Does anybody here have any experience with a Lamborghini?

I was wondering if anybody here has any experience with a Lamborghini.

Recently, me and my fiance were thinking about purchasing a used Lamborghini Gallardo. I would like to hear other people's take on them. Is it worth the insurance costs, gas mileage, etc?

Only if you can afford the maintenance. The problem is not the price of the car. You can put down $10,000 on it, and pay a monthly car note and walk out of there with it. But you must be able to afford the insurance, maintenance, gas, mechanic in case something goes wrong. Which will probably alone be about $15,000 a year since used cars have more of a likelihood of defaulting. Hope this helps you.

Owned one for 8 months, here's my take:

Cons:

- Good luck finding a mechanic (a trustworthy one)
- Be prepared to ALWAYS pre-plan your trips (where am I going to park? are there many bumps in the road? is it a safe area?)
- Get used to not seeing anything on the road except for what's directly in front of you.
- Cops hate you.
- Always worried it's going to get stolen.... Or worse: your house/garage gets broken into, putting your family in danger.
- Get ready to get your car keyed 5 times per year, out of jealousy.
- And let's be honest here: you're more likely to get into an accident.... I've never met anyone who owns a lambo that is a consistently responsible driver... Myself included at the time...

Pros:

- It's a lambo.

Buy a special edition model if possible ie. Baboni or SuperLeggera - as the Gallardo is nearly done or done now, for resale values it would be better to have a limited edition model to retain value. This is stupid advice. Buying a low end car is like buying stuff at Walmart - sure, it's cheap, but it's not very good and it breaks way sooner than something of quality.

As with most things, the upper-middle end range is the best, unless money is no object. Think BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche. You can get a few year old BMW for the same price as a new Honda.
