We are back up for many and working on others so you're able to access ASAP.

Unfortunately we are under a DDOS attack. We are working with our upstream providers and cloudflare to keep the forum up whilst this is dealt with.

I thank you for your patience, we are working 24/7 to get this resolved ASAP.

Don't forget BHW's traffic aswell... It adds up to the ddos attacks..

Who is DDOSing BHW and why? There are so many internet marketing forums out there and BHW isn't even ranked THAT highly

Thanks Blueplanet - I'm sure CF is very good for static sites and those with smaller volume but we're not your typical site - we're working on a better solution. CF is just the tourniquet to try and stop the bleed.

With millions of unique visitors per month (GA) - you just got to know which terms to search on.

I think the real question we might ask is who the hell did BHW upset so much for such attacks. Perhaps all this banning fired back?

Thanks for your views BrandingBaw - To put it in perspective we ban about 3-4 people a day on average with about 70,000 visitors, less than 0.00006%. Usually newbies who have not read the terms. Banning only where absolutely required or where the user has ignored previous warnings.

I think the real question we might ask is who the hell did BHW upset so much for such attacks. Perhaps all this banning fired back?

the admins must be doing a good job as we are still able to access the site even if it is a bit slow.
will be interested to hear about the solution revised if/when you find it.

Thanks for the reply, only wondered since some reputable members got banned lately which might have upset them. I wish you good luck with all the hard work and lets hope we can keep this place together.

I think it's being handled quite well considering bhw is one of the largest forums in the world and can still remain up. Just hope this gets resolved soon.

based on my experience working with sites against ddos attacks, rarely does a simple ban illicit such a reaction such as a prolonged attack. Most attackers believe it or not are actually more interested in being able to claim they successfully brought down one of the largest forums in the world. Another possible suspect could be major competitive underground networks that may have something against bhw or gain from the downtime
of bhw.
tl;dr it's unlikely a few members who were banned would go to the extent to ddos bhw (nor do they have to means to)
