So, I've been browsing the forum a lot lately and I've been seeing that a lot of members are being scammed or no provided with what they purchased and I think I've come up with a solution/idea that I don't think would be too difficult to implement. Why not add an Escrow service to the BHW section where BHW could hold onto the funds just like eLance or oDesk and than the funds can be released/dispersed to the seller?

Perhaps this would be more difficult than I think to add this but it seems to be a relatively simple solution to a growing problem. This is just a thought that I had that I wanted to put out there that will maybe bring up some new ideas or solutions that could solve the problem of buyers being scammed.

After all, buyers want safety and security when making purchases and I think this might be a good way of providing that security.

By the way, thanks to the Mods & Admins for doing a great job in handling the ShitList threads and any other problems that have risen between buyers & sellers.

It is a good idea but impractical, it would cause too many issues.
Also, what fee would you be willing to pay for this service?

A fee would obviously have to be imposed but the cost would have to be determined. But, I don't know what a fee for this should cost and would have to be determined by the forum superiors or owner.

There are tons of escrow providers out there... We really don't need more! Plus, I highly doubt that the guy(s) behind BHW really want to take on the shitstorm that accompanies the financial services sector

BHW does not need to babysit anymore. They already go above and beyond with the SL section.

People just need to use their brain when making purchase decisions.

Many SL's are because of transactions outside of the BST section. If it was my call I wouldn't even try to moderate those deals...BHW goes above and beyond.

What makes this any different from transactions anywhere else on the web? Should BHW handle escrow for that as well?

At some point people need to use common sense and make smart choices.

This was nothing more than an idea I had. I agree with you 100%! The Mods and Admins do more than enough when it comes to handling the SL and buyer/seller dispute related threads.

Imagine some random newbie account, buying a service, seller delivers and escrow is released, then buyer files a charge back against BHW, since the money was paid to BHW's account for escrow.

Imagine 100s of such transactions getting charged back on BHW daily owing to the huge number of transactions happening on daily basis on BHW.

It will be an operational night mare for BHW admins and they wont like to get into this.

This is a huge operational nuisance for marketplaces like odesk,freelancer and ebay and they have dedicated teams for fraud control on their sites. BHW admins already have lot take care on daily basis I guess.

Don't be stupid, purchase from sales threads and you will be fine.

Yes you're right as well. These are other good reasons that they shouldn't have an Escrow service here. These are some of the things that could happen that I didn't think about.
