Penguin 2.1 FTW!!

Just found this while doing some analysis and audit on penguin 2.1

Keywords = buy viagra

Site ranking #1 = link removed.

Site - The site is an authority site owned by a research organization in Virginia.

Hackers somehow were able to upload a page in that directory and SEOed the shit out of it.

Funny thing is this happened around when penguin 2.1 was rolling out and is still strong after 2.1 is completely out

Penguin lolz, 100k links on same anchor.

One thing that's strange is all links are do-follow, so it seems all links are from hacked sites again.

I think Matt Cutts has some more homework to do, hackers found a new way to rank for hard keywords now

Not just this, the first page for buy viagra is full of cloacked sites and similar more hacked sites.

removed.. the site was there for almost a month, I have been tracking it. funny thing is google keeps pushing us bullshit and now they get to see its all a big BS! Hoepfully Mattcutts will read this sometime

Does it mean that penguin does not take action on trustworthy websites ? So high pagerank = immunity ?

Op what are your conclusions about this, beside the BIG fail, which ~signal of the ranking algorithm does this fail reveal ?

Not giving the exact kw helps a lot.... You can send PM's to reputable members if they ask.

Maybe it's one of us that ranked that site....and spent U$ 10k on links.... If you rank for as much as 2 to 3 weeks you can make the investment back. Like this it's gone in days...

A few months ago someone outed a make money site in another thread and it was gone in less than a week. I monitored it.....it probably would've stayed there for months otherwise.

If its owned by any BHW member, I will ask the admins to delete the thread. My intention was NOT to out anyone's site. My intention was to out the Google fail. We have all discussed the payday loans keyword in bhw in the past and how google failed there.

Google has special needs no matter how perfect they try to come off as.
It is a great feat they pulled to rank like that, I'm sure they may do it again but, if your link share gets them beat quicker, that would really suck.

From now on, let's all try to not include links to impressive sites. Keywords will suffice. Just my 2 cents, nothing more.

They do these updates not for better ranking system and better relevance. They do it for webmasters headache and adwords PPC buys.

i think there are many high searched terms and big niches.

google can not afford a big manual web-spam team . that is reason of animal updates. (i heard that birds and animals charge less than matt **** )

but there is a problem , animals are not accurate like humans.

This has been around for quite sometime now. It's not that Google has double standards, it's just that Gogole does not see it.

Download this free plugin for firefox called as user agent switcher and when you visit the site as Google bot you will see a different site and when you go through regular browser user agents you will see a different site.

The worst part will be that the webmasters won't even know this is happening and no mater what animal Google throws at these guys they will always end up shooting their own leg.

Not just a backlinks, he also did good text with WDF*IDF formula. I checked, its really good. Like in "payday loans" niche, people made website, write good content on page that match with best results in WDF*IDF and then built a lot of backlinks, and they are few days on top3 results (mostly). I think Google have just manual way to fight with this, to make special algo for every niche, like they did for payday loans, now they need for viagra, and much more that's spammed and profitable (because they will never remove backlinks way to rank website, they can just improve it).
