Do manual tier 1! No, use software! Do only PR 3+ and OBL under 5! No, do Pr1 + and OBL under 50! Magic Submitter is best! No Ultimate Demon is! No GSA is! No, scrapebox is cause I like blasting!

During this recent Penguin update, even hardcore white hat sites were slapped, just like the black hat ones. If you are way too paranoid and want to really avoid the penalty, then do your Tier 1 manually and it will take you 5 - 10 times more time. If not, then use software like Ultimate Demon, which is decent for Tier 1, or Magic Submitter etc. Read reviews and you will be wiser.
But considering that you are new and you have tons of time, doing Tier 1 manually isn't that bad idea. What you need at this point is some software for Tier 2 and Tier 3. GSA can handle both of those really nicely, BUT! Remember that it's not like you pay $90 for GSA and you are good to go. I don't know what you budget is, but when buying GSA SER you HAVE TO buy also GSA Captcha Breaker which is what? $120? Without this piece of software, the captcha costs will eat you. Then GSA Seo indexer is a nice addon too and it's just like $20 or so. BUT! Yeh another but. You will need proxies. There are tons of nice providers here, most of them suck big time. After switching like 5 - 6 proxy providers, the best one so far were BuyProxies, 30 semi dedicated proxies should do the trick for you, that's another 30 a month or so. And one more thing, if your bandwidth or PC suck, you will have to get a VPS, which is like 20 bucks a month so always consider all the options and always have a plan. Even when it's about buying a software. Hope this helps.

GSA alone won't do squat.
As many people have said quality content & GSA = good.
I personally use manually spun content for tier 1
Kontent machine for tier 2
Depending on how you plan to use GSA, would depend on the quality of the content you're putting out.
You could manually spin the content for articles & web 2.0 for GSA and leave the rest to kontent machine.

That is not true. If you know how to do it properly, there will be plenty results.
Anyway it is too early to call out a software that works after penguin 2.1. All softwares can work or not, depending on the user. If the user knows what he is doing, the software will work
In todays SEO, you have to outsmart Google on many levels. It is not as easy as push buttons and rank. You need to have a whole personalized strategy, depending on niche and website.

Anything you can do manually you can do just as well with automated tools, as long as you know what the fuck you're doing. So he is right, doing manual work is for chumps.

I have not yet tried between the two yet there are more people who prefer GSA than the Magic Submitter. I ma doing SEO manually.
there is a lot of positive feedback on GSA, but what is stopping me from getting it is a lack of training and tutorials out there. I watched whole lot of videos on youtube and read a lot about it, but I do not think I grasp everything that I need for my plan. I like senuke the most, since it has a lot of templates, support,3rd party training, but of course it is out of my budget, since as nargil pointed out I will still have to get proxies,captcha services, spend on vps and it all adds up to a lot, considering that I'm not earning anything back and probably not going to for a long time with my level of knowledge.
And I still have a lot to do to enrich content for my money site.

I don't think it matters too much what software you use; it's more important to understand what search engines want and create a winning strategy. If people use an automated strategies that 10k other people use, it's not surprising some sites get slapped. Then again, Google can't catch everyone so if you're happy to take the risk, invest in one of the software programs that get lots of updates, like scrapebox, nohandsseo or gsa, and take the time to learn how to use them effectively.
I can rank any video #1 for any keyword using magic submitter - in YOUTUBE.
But damned if I can't get the vids ranked in google itself. What's the secret??

You can get high PR/authority links with automated software too. You do need unique, manually written content for your money sites, I'll give you that.

I own gsa and all the others but i stopped using them 4 or more months ago. Why? Because everyone and their aunt is using it. Dont you think G has already caught on? Tier 1 Tier 2 and 3. It only takes a G employee to come here to monitor/buy the products being sold. Also, why would you want to do what everyone else is doing? Not me, i wrote about tier link building dying a sudden death. Mark my words. One of those algo will include it if its not already happening.
