im seeing alot of local directory sites like yellow pages and yelp and all those have made massive gains

Fuck fuck fuck one of my sites that had been doing well for years (with scrapebox spam) has tanked majorly.

I am also seeing a lot of different results for those serps.

Good news though is my one site that I had a massive link removal campaign underway for saw a big recovery and am now back to where I was ranking before. Seems like Im gonna have to go back and use linkdelete for those spam domains that were ranking well. Fuck I hate spending money on link removals.

For those that saw drops in rankings, what was your backlink profile like?

Why is everyone panicking?? History shows an update takes a few days maybe several days of "shuffling the pack" and levelling out...no panic or worry should start if you've dropped rank till at least a few days time...
Or am I wrong??

#4 to #38 a couple of hours ago on one of my sites and I only manage like 3. It's stayed #3-#4 for the past 3 months.

im seeing +-2 on my ranks...

most of my 2-4 months old sites got huge increase on serps..

Due to a good buddy I understand that the algo can't run quick enough to impact all the new sites.
So historical data is being considered...that is why the new sites are ok.

Here is what I'm seeing, the old sites that were ranking completely tanked ... the new sites that are less then 2 months old held rankings or improved. I don't fking get it.

So far it's the Tumblr destruction update. Google hitting back at Yahoo.... Not about search quality at all. Yahoo was gaining ground and this is Google abusing its monoply once more.

I'm seeing this as well. More domain crowding by the Internet Association cartel too (Amazon, eBay, Facebook). Let's not forget Google backed retailmenot.com as they are seeing some big gains in niches I watch. This Penguin update is just the latest in a series of fuck jobs and holds true to Google's past actions that have pushed the smaller players into Adwords.

Got totally raped for most of my sites. went from 2-3 to 150+.

Fucking bummer

Exactly. Great link there, bringing up the correlation to the I.A.

There are some travel related queries with 100% results from a single big brand site...one hundred percent, 10 results from the same site, all ads above the fold, all "organic" listings from the same site.

This update is all about hitting back at Yahoo and keeping social media web 2.0 competitors in check. Tumblr has Tumbld in this update and more Google competitors are sure to be hit in the coming updates. Google+ is dead after all, this is a desperate move....

From the few experiments I ran this afternoon, there is a blatant Tumblr filter in place. If Yahoo had any honor left, they'll make some noise about this. They have a case with the FTC....

The update isn't done yet, this is exactly what happened the last time, give it a few days for it to settle. Waste of time trying analyse everything just now.

So hit so hardly for the first time

These guys were hit hard
Orange-County-SEO.com

About time. Still DA 66 PA 71. From #1 to #60. That must hurt.. a lot.

I dont see how it was around 1%. I see so many changes in the top 10 for so many keywords :S

Looks like my new sites wern't hit at all or hard. I wonder if its the grace period.

I see lot of guys screwved in my niche but m still there sticking rock solid

Wait, if my rankings have dropped, is it over for my site? Do I need to just start a new one?

Woah, my sites seriously got hit too... god damn, lost about 5-6 first page keywords, some have dropped to page 2, others to page 4-5-6-10+

Even non-English Googles have been shuffling stuff up.

What sucks is that most of my competitors have NOT been hit. They are also almost inactive in terms of SEO (few links, almost no fucking text content on their website) yet ranking #1 or 2 since years (like 3-4 years).

I'm worried because my websites put food on my table, if that disappears, its a big problem. We're not talking about a few hundreds bucks per month buddy so yes you are wrong, when someone fucks with my money, I get pissed. That being said, I am also going to watch this very closely.
