This niche is amazing, I mark up products 100%-200%, and there are thousands of products. Its one of the last places you can actually still be profitable with just adwords. I've been working with this company since I started my own adult toy site, and they have been great. They are one of the only adult toy dropshippers, and the only one, as far as I've found (and I've looked a lot), that has very good product fulfillment rates. They also don't have a minimum order requirement, so you can actually do dropshipping if you are a startup. All other adult toy dropshippers I've encountered have at least a 100$ per order minimum, so you need to do at least $100 in product sales (usually $200 retail) per day in order to have any sort of respectable shipping time. They also have adult toy ecommerce sites for sale that are pre-loaded with their product databases. Take it from someone who spent 3-weeks entering 3,000 adult toys into his site, it's worth it to buy a preloaded site. Their preloaded sites are also built into their ordering system, so you have almost no maintenance work. Customer service has been great, and products are usually shipped the same day (depending on order time).
For anyone considering getting into this business, Adult toys are an incredible niche for me, and there are a few reasons why:
1. It has a huge number of consumers, there are millions of searches done daily for adult toy keywords.
2. It's not prohibitively competitive. There are a lot of sex toy sites, but most are bullshit affiliate sites that don't rank, and never will. If you have basic link building skills, expect to be pulling in a few hundred organics within a few months.
3. There are thousands of products. This means there are millions of keywords that people use to find these products. New products become popular often and there are always new opportunities
4. If you have an adult toy e-commerce site that converts decently, using adwords for promotion is actually profitable. In my experience, conversion rates are in the 2-4% range, and I can pull down at least 1,000 PPC hits per day at about 11 cents per click (using Adwords and Yahoo).
This gives me an ad spend of around $110 bucks per day. At a 3% conversion rate, that gives me roughly 30 sales per day. Average sale for me is $60, and I mark up everything on my site 100%. So profit on each sale before advertising costs is $30 per sale. Giving me daily profits of ($900 - $110 ad spend)= $790 Per Day.
5. It's relatively recession proof industry. Sex, drugs, alcohol, these are things people continue to buy. I've noticed very little if any drop off since the economy went to shit.
6. Adult toys are becoming much more accepted and mainstream. Anyone notice how often sex toys are talked about or featured on television these days? The consumer base is expanding for adult toys in a big way.
7. It can't be eroded like free porn has done to other segments of the adult industry. You physically need to have the product.
8. People don't like to buy adult toys from brick and mortar sex shops. It's a private thing, and they want to do it from home on the internet.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I've been wanting to talk about this industry on BHW for a while now, because it has been great to me.

how many websites do you have setup with them?
what is josie looking for in a webmaster? Certaintly, she's gonna have some screening process.
also, i looked at the packages. it seems to include hosting/site maintainence. Josie's company is gonna make a killing charging $16/month hosting.
99% or BHW members have their own hosting, and want to do that aspect themselves. Josie, will get more business if she just sells the website, and provides weekly/monthly product feeds for webmasters to update their sql. No need for hosting stuff. thats unecessary expense to us. we gotta put all those reseller packages from hostgator to use.

So I have a couple of questions on the niche in general, and a few specific questions on the business itself. If someone could put their two cents in and give a recommendation, it would be great.
First, what hosting do I use if I don't do a hosting package with the company ? A lot of hosting companies say that this kind of business is against their TOS, including my current one. I don't know where to begin looking for something like this.
Second, What merchant account will process this type of transaction. Same as above, it's against the TOS of a lot of them, including mine.
