Yes its possible to make your competitors get flagged by google by Spam links. But as soon he got hit by google penalty he will start blasting your site with same amount of spam links. You both will be fighting with spam links and at some point you realize its you started this shit and feel for it.

That's exactly the thought I conjured up in my mind when I see people writing these post's. A sniggering little two bob bellend, rubbing his hand together gleefully cos he's about to neg seo some poor sod's site, some poor sod who has worked hard to make it work, but yet this bellend doesn't care, cos he's mentality is he can't beat him, so he'll resort to UNETHICAL tactics to gain an unfair disadvantage.

having an ass do that to my site, I can assure you Goog is able to find out where that came from. I had a lowlife competitor do a crapload of bad backlinks which did get us an unnatural link penalty but after investigating and going back and forth with G, it was quickly revoked and competitor got slammed by them.

it might be tempting to try shortcuts and ruin competitors, but if you take that energy into your site, they'll wind up slipping up doing something wrong and you'll be there to ride right past 'em!
