Take NO. Explode and head to the gym. Tell your muscles "I command you to grow!" - TC Fletcher

Yep I head there three times a week and eat healthy. Great results too :-) . its not a lot of time - just 6 hours wish a week and you feel way better about your appearance and in general.

NO. Explode is pretty good when I've taken it, but I've gone back to traditional will power and good eating. It works lol.

To be honest if you want a flat stomach its the effort in the kitchen that is most important. 3 meals a day isn't going to get you anywhere. 5+ meals a day will help your metabolism stay active all day long. Now add 3-4 runs per week in there. These runs don't have to be a marathon 20-30 minutes should do the trick. If you want to add a little muscle tone in there add in some push ups(spiderman pushups to push it up a notch), sit ups, pull ups, planks, jump squats, lunges and 1 exercise that not many people do but girls like is the 'v' aka your obliques.

I pretty well follow this and I stay quite fit, and I sit here almost all day everyday doing SEO.

A lot of misconceptions here.

First of all, meal frequency (and meal timing) has little to no effect in helping you get in shape. Whether it's 3 meals, 5 meals or 10 meals, at the end of the day, it's all about calories in vs calories out

There's no such thing as muscle tone. You either gain muscle or lose muscle. "Muscle tone" is the term used by fitness magazines, weight watchers and the likes

@OP: I work out 5 times a week for 1 to 1.5 hours, right before I head to the office. Preparing for Tough Mudder this year in Melbourne. If you didn't know what Tough Mudder is, look it up ;)

I work out nearly everyday. it helps keep me sane. takes you away from the pc .its a good break. usually swim for 2 hours.love the pool.

No point in doing your obliques unless if you are already incredibly fit with something like 3-5% body fat. Otherwise, the oblique muscles would just get bigger and push out your handles and make you look fatter.

I think he means "muscle definition".

Incorrect.

Correct. Disregard the opinion from anyone that uses the word "toning" or "tone".

No natural human is ever going to reach 3-5% body fat, juiced professional bodybuilders can maintain such condition only for few hours during competition, so no; that won't ever happen to anyone here.

Getting a flat stomach or actually anything to do with muscle is about 20 percent training, and the other 80 is what you put in your body. Think about a car with shitty gas in it all the time and shitty oil. The car is going to start breaking down, performing badly, etc. Put high quality gas, high quality oil, keep everything lubed up, keep your oil changed, the car is going to drive better, look better, and last a lot longer. Your body is the same way. It uses every nutrient you put in it. So rather you want to grow upward or outward is based upon what food you eat. I am only a freshmen in college but worked out for four years straight every week for 5 days a week at my local gym after school, and also did football workouts. Also experimented a little with roids which is another story for another day though. Ha, but either way I put a shit ton of research and blood , sweat, and tears into my body for years and got great results so rather Im a freshmen in college or not I do not believe has any relevance. Check out the elitefitness forum. EVERYTHING you need to know about EVERYTHING is there. Including all your steroid research if you decide to go to the dark side. cant post links but just google it.

I exercise every day, I also have sports practices several times a week. (Track and field season just ended) When I get home from school I like to shoot baskets, and in a month I will probably be swimming.

I think genes also have to do a lot with it. First of my metabolism is great. Most importantly I build muscle quickly. Example last summer, my friend was going to the gym 5 times a week for about two months, while drinking protien(&bunch of other stuff), and I went to the gym for like 2 weeks like 2-3 times a week and I built a lot more muscle than him. My grandfather is the same way, he is 95 with bigger biceps than me without ever working out.

One question to those who workout, I am about to start running and working out religiously, but I wanted to know is it better to work out before or after working on IM?

I exercise and to gain a nice body its 10% workout and 90% is what you eat, for best results I recommend high fat and protein and low carbs just use veggies as the only source of carbs.

As someone whose deadlifted 540lbs, squatted 400, and benched 295lbs at a body weight of 160lbs, I can say from experience that you're full of shit.

This is the problem with not only fitness, but marketing too: people coaching and preaching shit they've only heard about in theory to other people who've never done anything, and only heard theory. I'm not knocking nutrition, I'm more healthy now then I was then (less strong, too) but I'm so sick of all these idiotic sayings people keep spewing.

You think abs are 80% diet? Some motherfucker did a WATER FAST for 3 months and still looked just as gooey as when he started. It's ALL about training. Because if you're training, your body is going to adapt as fast as it can with whatever you give it. You think it's going to "store" extra calories from a few big macs as fat? Fuck no, it gets to work asap to fix the damage you just did with heavy ass lifting, building up new muscle fibers, repair the old, regenerating your CNS, shuttling glycogen back to your muscles and liver... Fuck I'm sick of people like you.

There is no way you could build "muscle" in 2 weeks.

Doesn't really matter. Everyone has their own preference. I, for example, am a morning person. I can't work out after 3 p.m. for some reason. I'd feel sluggish.

Without great workout regimes AND hitting your macro (and micro) nutrients, you will not get the best results. It was never 40-60, 50-50, 30-70, it has always been and always will be workout AND diet. It's not an option. You cannot choose either one.

That kind of diet "might" work, but the question is WHY? Why only limit carbs sources from veggies? Why not build a diet that you can enjoy? Do you even track your macros?
