This is my complete guide on how to make thousands of dollars per month through autoblogging. First of all, I will teach you how to set up a single autoblog, and from there you can increase your arsenal of mini-auto-updating websites. Autoblogging, despite the term auto, does take quite a bit of work to set up, and some patience to see profits. Although setup may take a while, it is quite simple, and startup fees aren't too high. Consider paying $60 for your first month of autoblogging, and making back $1000?
That would be great, and it is very possible, but I will make no promises, or false claims that I am having that kind of success. I feel that since this guide requires you to spend a bit of money, I must warn make sure you are aware that things do not always work out as planned. On the bright side, autoblogging is a very practical, and straightforward way to make money on the internet. I've started to see profits and vast amounts of visitors to the autoblogs I setup just last night! So, whether you are interested in learning how to make enough money to quit your job, or you just want to make a few extra dollars for the weekend, this guide will teach you everything you need to know about autoblogging.
This is going to be a long post, so brace yourself for an autoblogging enlightenment.
This is my exact method for setting up autoblogs, change it up to see best results!
Setup:
1. Create a folder on your desktop to store all of your autoblogging files. This will help you to keep your whole autoblogging process very organized, and easy to keep track of.
2. Within that folder, create these 3 folders: Themes | Plugins | Completed Themes
3. Go to bestwpthemes.com and pick out around 5 simple-yet good looking themes to use for your autoblogs. Save them into your ‘themes' folder, unzip contents into the folder, and then delete the zip files. Now you have 5 good themes that you can use for your first 30 autoblogs.
4. Download and Purchase (if necessary) these plugins (all of which are completely worth the price):
1. Max Blog Press Ping Optimizer (Free): Automatically pings websites when a new post is released on your blog.
2. Google (XML) Sitemap Generator (Free): Let's google know what's going on.
3. Platinum SEO plugin (Free): Great for SEO (as the title would suggest)
4. YPN and Adsense all in one (Free): Allows you to automatically embed adsense into your posts.
5. WP Privacy Policy (Free): A privacy policy will help to keep you from getting banned in adsense.
6. Auto Social Poster (Free or Paid): A great tool that submits your newly posted articles to social bookmarking services automatically.
7. caffeinated content (Paid): The Meat of your blog. This costs about $40 with the coupon code "cafediscount". caffeinated content pulls article from around the web and posts them to your blog over a period of time that you specify. It can also automatically rewrite the articles to be more SEO friendly.
And those are all of the plugins I use. I'm sure some people would argue that more plugins are necessary to maximize your earnings, but these plugins are working out ok for me at the moment. I would've suggested Unique Article Wizard for your articles, but for some reason that plugin has been crashing my blogs lately. I'm sure that you could use some creativity to think up some other plugins that would help to increase your autoblog's pageviews and earnings.
5. Save those plugins to your "plugins" folder, unzip the contents, and then delete the zip files.
Now you're ready to get into your niche, this is where you'll have to do a bit of thinking. This is the smallest step in the guide, but one of the most important!
Niche Research:
I am definitely not an expert when it comes to picking (and sticking with) a niche. There are many things to consider when picking your niche. In my opinion, these things are; How saturated the niche is, how valuable clicks are, and how hungry visitors are (or the mentality of your readers).
Of course you want to find a niche that is the least saturated, with less websites and more customers/readers. You want click values to be high, you can't rely on thousands of visitors today, since you won't be spending hours promoting each one of your micro-blogs. Finally, one of the most important factors is ‘what type of reader you have'. Depending on the niche, and where you readers come from, there could be people that are very adsense savvy, and don't like to click on your ads. The less techy a niche is, the more likely someone is to buy something. On the other hand, tech blogs make pretty good money when it comes to adsense.
Unfortunately, I don't spend a whole lot of time researching these things, so I can't show you exactly how to. It's alright though, since what I will show you is the most important stuff.
1. Choose a niche. Really, just choose one. There are plenty of ways to find out which niches are paying the most. I went to MySEOBlog to find out what some of the highest paying niches are.
2. Do a google search (or search your favorite webmaster forum) on the niche you had in mind, try to find out what other webmasters think about the niche. Is it profitable, unsaturated, are the visitors going to click your ads or avoid them? The beauty of this is, things don't have to be absolutely perfect. Once you get done making a small (approximately 30) blog farm in this niche, you can make a new farm on a completely different niche. Over time you will find out which niche that you personally can make the most money with.
3. Now for some keyword research, which will hopefully help you think of some (keyword rich) domain names when the time comes. This will also be used for on-site SEO purposes.
1. Go to Google's Keyword Tool
2. Off the top of your head, just type in a few keywords related to your niche.
3. Scour the results for keywords that you think are valuable and Add them to the list. Once you are finished, save the list as a text file and add it to the root ‘autoblog‘ folder on your desktop.
Ok, now let's get this autoblogging show on the rode shall we!
With all of your niche research done, and the initial setup phase complete, you can finally get physically started making your autoblogs. This is the part that you will be repeating over and over go, so feel free to change things up a bit if you start getting bored.
1. Go to your favorite Domain name register and purchase your first domain (I usually just buy .info for autoblogs). Try to use some of the keywords that you researched. This will help you when it comes to SEO. By the way, my favorite Domain Registrar is Namecheap.
2. Now what you need is a hosting account at seo-host which allows you to change your c-class IPs easily. For your initial 30 blogs, I would recommend purchasing their first plan, which includes 5 different c-class IPs. I just recently started using their services and I'd have to say that things are quite hassle free, and they respond to my support tickets extremely fast.
3. Now change the name servers on the domain you registered to the nameservers SEO Host gave you to use. Or if you are using a different host, then change them accordingly. The remainder of this guide will be more specific to seo-host, but I'm sure you could figure out what to do if you are using a different web host.
4. Go into your seo-host cpanel and click on "list accounts". Go to the cpanel of your first account (this will be the first domain you originally signed up with). Then, go to fantastico and install wordpress on your domain.
5. The next thing you'll need is the a good ftp program like filezilla. I'm going to assume you already know about that, but if not.. then go download it. To login to cpanel, you will use the domain has the ‘host' the username you see when you list accounts, and the password should be what you used to create your account. So, once you've figured out how to use FTP upload 1 of the themes you chose to your themes directory, and upload all of your plugins to the plugins folder.
Setting up the Blog from the Inside:
1. Go to the domain you just setup and login to the admin panel. Install your wordpress theme and activate all of your plugins. Basically, do what you would do if you were setting up any other blog. Make it look nice and all.
2. If you make any changes to your theme, for example; you put your kontera code somewhere in the footer, then what you should do is save your theme to the completed themes folder. This way you won't have to fix up the theme again the next time you use it.
3. Make sure akismet is working to reduce spam.
4. Go to your adsense and ypn all in one plugin and set it up. I usually put everything on random, and change the ad sizes to the blocky ones.
5. Go to Max Blog Press Ping optimizer, register, and then find a pinglist to use. I'm currently using this one, but I haven't had any time to prune it yes (for non-working pingz):
6. Now open up your platinum SEO plugin, and also open up the keywords you saved from earlier. Copy those keywords and input them into your platinum SEO plugin. Fix everything else up however you'd like to.
7. Use the privacy policy plugin to create a privacy policy page (I usually just leave everything on default).
8. Generate your first XML sitemap with the xml sitemap plugin.
9. Setup Auto Social Poster: This is one of the really useful plugins so make sure you get it right. Add some of your keywords as tags, and tell your plugin to randomly choose from the tags you've suggested. Create a few accounts at each of the social bookmarking websites listed (or 1 if you don't want to do anything against TOS) and add them into your plugin. I have mine set to submit to 20 random social bookmarking sites that I am registered on.
Once you finish setting that plugin up, I would suggest deleting it from the folder you have on your desktop, and saving the new one. This way you won't have to input all of your accounts again the next time you use it.
10. Now open up caffeinated content. That should be a tab under ‘posts' if you are using the latest version of WP (2.7.x). This is pretty self explanatory. Choose some keywords to pull articles from. If your website is on acai berries, then just enter ‘acai berries'. Choose a few other keywords as well. Or if you want your blog to be extremely niche specific, just use that one keyword. Pull enough articles to where you will automatically be posting 3-4 times per day. Set up your start date and end date to whatever you think is necessary. I usually setup my blogs right when I buy my domains, so I set my start and end date for a year. I set the program to pull articles from articles, not yahoo answers, or videos. Although is wise to mix a few videos into your posts every once and a while too.Another important thing to make sure you do, is turn on the rewrite function. I'm currently using the markoved rewriter, but I think that it jumbles around a bit.
Now your first autoblog is setup, and what you need to do is finish setting up the other 30 blogs. Once you've setup your 30 niche blogs, you can interlink them together. Make sure you only have 6 autoblogs on each of your c-class IPs. You can simply open up a support ticket to get your other IPs setup. Link each autoblog to 1 of the blogs on a different IP. Another useful tool is the links feature in caffeinated content. You can set it to randomly link to a website from a list you upload. For more information you'll have to view to plugin itself.
