I personally think that people from "unaware" buying stage would be useless for such a method.
Like, if I'd post a link into a thread similar to "How do I mow my lawn". Seems that that person is not going to buy anything yet.
First, he'll have to find out that he needs a mower. Then he'll research mowers' types and think that he wants a gas mower.
That is where I should steal him from forums. Right? :) If not, please correct me (with some explanatory comment, if possible).

So with alerts I'd set this keyword list:
- lawn mower reviews
- gas lawn mowers
- electric lawn mowers
- HUSQVARNA RZ3016

In fact, I did so. And get zero results in my inbox for over 300 alerts.
(well, actualy I get a couple each day or 2, but that's enough only to confirm that Alerts service is still alive, not for marketing)
All alerts are set as per your advice: all results, discussions, send immideatelly.
But my box is empty. What do I do wrong? Please help :)

Meathead, wouldn't it be too impertinently to ask you to post an example of keywords you would use for Alerts in some example niche?
Prefferably, something from physical goods area :)

I'm not sure if people would buy lawn-mowers online (I don't know for sure, though), so maybe it's not the best niche to target. If you are having troubles getting alerts for specific products, then try some more generic keywords in the niche. For example, gardening, lawn care etc. may all be suitable for you.

I don't get too many actionable alerts each day (maybe 2-3) but I have been building it up for a while and have quite a high end service.

If you're not getting enough results, try dig out some older forum posts (although being first on a thread is preferable) or widen your search criteria. You might even need to move onto a new niche. Not everything will work well with this method.

In terms of how long it can take to get a sale, it really depends. I have some sites that I setup and don't make anything for 3 months. Others will make a sale on day one. I would try for a month and if you haven't made a sale, move onto a new site. Make sure you check your stats because lots of people on this thread have reported that they forgot about their site, didn't think the method worked and then found random sales a few months down the line.
 
Well, I need some money, and this method has worked for me in the past when I put practically zero effort into it. This time around, I'm going to be pretty much making it a full 9-5. "Bert ders nert ernerf erpderts!?!?!" There's more places to post on the web than just G updates. I'm going to infiltrate some forums all bad ass like for one thing!

Anyway, I've picked one sub-niche that I am very much familiar with, and two sub-niches within that sub-niche. About to make a site and give each sub-niche a page. Only 2 products for one and 3 products for the other one so far.

As for the site template, it's going to be shitty. And it's for a reason. Flashy sites look fake. Plain sites that look like a real person that actually takes part in what you're selling make sales. Not to mention I've researched this niche already because I actively follow it, and I know what these sites look like already.

I thought about tracking everything with prosper202, but it just seems useless to me. All I really need to know is the referrers, which Analytics can easily track for me. Plus, I don't really feel like getting my tracking pixel on all of the vendors' "Thank You" pages.

With the volume of google alerts I'm getting, I'll use any keyword I can.
The keywords I have right now are almost all about 1-3 words long.

I expect to think up more keywords as I go along. It's a work in progress.

Thanks for the advice. the first two days I started posting, I got 2 clickbank hops per day, the last two days of posting, I'm up to 3 a day. So not overwhelming but perhaps things are heading in the right direction... And I'm getting faster at posting. I just finished posting for today. Looks like I'm at 50 posts.

I'll keep posting to my current review site and put a some thought into a second review site as well (and perhaps a third and fourth)... in a niche that might convert quicker. Experimenting..

Update: Yesterday I got 5 clickbank hops and 1 order form impression. So far today I've gotten 8 hops and 3 order form impressions. No sales yet. CONVERT, DAMMIT, CONVERT! :) 75 forum posts so far.
 
I'm surprised I was able to grasp the basics of this post as I know almost nothing about internet marketing... how much money does hosting and domain cost in total for one site?

I have three blogs and I am getting decent traffic,a lot of clicks,but no sales.So I have went to the good ole stand by,cheesy poon blog.Just a test.

It's taken me several days to get through all 42 pages of this thread since I intentionally limit my time on non-income producing activities. Great thread you started here meathead and lots of good advice from others. I'm adding this method, with a few additions/tweaks, to my own daily routine.

I've been around IM for a long time and for some reason I never thought of doing something this simple.

REALLY NOOB QUESTION!!! How would you get paid? Like i understand all the steps but how do you get the money?
 
I get about 35 views a day on my first ever site that I have made with this method. The thing is, I havnt commented on anything in about 3 months and still getting about 35 views a day. When i was commenting I got up to 70 one day which isnt bad considering it was the second ever day my site was up. I havnt made any money yet, but that part lies in my own hands in how I set up the site and review the product. I only commented on things for about an hour a day for a week. If i was still doing that to this day Im sure I would be getting over 1000 views a day or more. I decided since I still havnt made any money yet I set up the site poorly so Im going to be setting up another one here soon. But either way, this method works like magic and is probably one of the best shares here on BHW that I have seen.
