DeathbyCaptcha can't solve Recaptchas?

I was using SenukeX with Decaptcher.com and it was doing well, but I was running low on credits (<$1) and I turned on DeathbyCaptcha to take over its job for captcha solving.

Strangely, when SenukeX's was doing the social network registrations, the success rate was terrible. I ran it 2 more times but the success rates were the same - no increase.

I switched back to Decaptcher temporarily to use up that $1 credit and strangely, success rates were picking up back to normal.

Then I remembered DeathbyCaptchas were using OCRs to solve their captcha in the front line before sending those unreadables to human solvers.
Still, I'm still confused with the huge success rate difference.

Your opinion?


P.S: Both servers were working fine and NOT overloaded or whatsoever.

Am using DBC with SENuke and although it may be a bit slow, it's still good for me.

It's because DBC's human solvers often either write nothing or one word at the same time. Real success rates are around 60%.

Update to Blackseng: I've emailed them about it. So let's see if they sort it this time. A while ago I emailed them about removing some idiots who were writing "None" for every recaptcha presented to them. They were successfully fired. Now it seems many of the solvers think that writing one word is enough.

Basically for many relatively common CAPTCHAs, DBC uses OCR , so success rates are relatively constant there. However I am not sure if it can recognise special characters e.g. @ sign or % etc. For ReCaptcha, DBC uses human solvers who achieve really shitty success rates because they don't type in the full captcha.

When I pay by DBC, I get charged 20% VAT by the payment processor. So prices are exclusive of VAT. So my real price is $1.67 / 1000. Now, assuming 60-70% (true success rate of DBC), taking average 65%, I am paying 1.67 per 650 solved CAPTCHAs, which is equal to a final price of $2.57 / 1000 CAPTCHAs. That is nearly double the price advertised.

When you've got business costs to cover, you should be careful to account for a doubling of your CAPTCHA costs, whatever service you use. I used to think DBC was the best but that was because I used to use Captchabot which is the worst service in the history of mankind.

Antigate is good but only at off-peak times. They reject the shit out of your CAPTCHAs if you don't jack up your bid to ridiculous prices. Decaptcher keeps moving their site which annoys the hell out of me.

So it leaves DBC. I wish they would improve because they could take over a big market if they get it right, but at the moment they've got some workers who are ruining their reputation and jacking up our CAPTCHA costs as well.

They should have at least some dignity in their job... jeez.

I remember there's once I viewed the "solved captchas" in DBC (before they revamp their site), and I saw some solvers typed words like "hahaha" and "asda". WTF?

From the looks of it DBC really needs to get their sht together.

They used to be better than Decaptcher but I guess the low pricing structure they have is eating them from the inside.

I also noticed it. In these days, I don't get a good success rate. Now I use De-captcher and getting high success rate with senukex.

Lol, BlackSeng, I don't think there is much dignity in filling in CAPTCHAs all day long for under $1 per 1000.

Yeah, some solvers take the piss, they either write nonsense or they write just one word. This would be much better if we were not CHARGED for all these bullshit captcha entries, but the truth is, we ARE paying for it. This is because there is no way for softwares like Xrumer to report back to DBC that it was incorrect CAPTCHA. Yes, technically, Xrumer uses xmessages to determine whether a CAPTCHA was incorrect based on the response the site gives, but more often than not it doesn't report accurately even if you put the correct entries in xmessages. In terms of incorrect CAPTCHAs, DeathbyCaptcha reports it all on their end. So the only time it records an incorrect CAPTCHA is when their system says it can't solve it, in which case a ? for the whole CAPTCHA is written. If a human solver types "asda", "hahaha" "I am gay" "I am a shit captcha solver" "dfdsfdsfdfdsfdsds" or whatever it may be, Deathbycaptcha currently has no way of knowing and reports those CAPTCHAs as CORRECT, and then proceeds to CHARGE you for it.

If anyone does not believe me, run your softwares for a while and do a sample of 200 CAPTCHAs, for each incorrect note it down. Then you can determine the real success rate. Some days you get OK solvers, other days there is someone working on the shift that is either lazy or likes taking the piss. I'm surprised they don't monitor these things more carefully.

Therefore Deathbycaptcha real costs are around $2.13 per 1000 not including any VAT based on a more realistic success rate of 65%. If you're in Europe like me you can end up paying much more when you add VAT.

Hi Guys,

About the accuracy rates and the words that some of our workers sometimes input, please note that we have worked and still are effusively working hard to educate our Human Solvers to type the CAPTCHAs as similar as possible.

All operators that are caught typing garbage / one word ReCaptchas are heavily penalized. We have methods to detect these behaviors, but with the CAPTCHA traffic we have these methods sometimes fail.

We have people on our team looking to manually detect and ban abusers as well, but with the thousands of CAPTCHAs our system receives per minute, it?s sadly almost impossible to control this up to a 100%.

However, it?s not common if you?re getting many responses from our service like this. If this is so, please feel free to PM me telling your DBC username and I?ll take a closer look at your account settings.

Btw, every person who complained about this particular issue on this thread has now a new PM.

If you?re using Avangate.com payment processor, in order to avoid VAT payments you could try the following:

- You can pay putting another country on the billing information. They could ask/request for information or documents to verify your identity, but besides that you should have no trouble.

- Contact their support directly (here) and ask them to remove the VAT from your payment. This has worked for some people.

I know it?s kind of a hassle and that sometimes it?s kind of unfair too paying for VAT, but that?s something that goes completely out our hands, because that?s a policy adopted by our payment processor in which we have no vote.

You could also try paying through Plimus, Liberty Reserve or WebMoney.

I use most of the Captcha services and they seem to all have good days and bad.

I once thought and still in the back of my head wonder if all these services we pay for have something like CaptchaSniper running and we all keep paying them and they just cut us a break on the price knowing some money is better than none.

With some of them now having trouble with recaptcha it really makes me wonder even more.

My point is unless you hire someone you know that wants your business to do as well as you want it to do, we are going to continue to have captcha concerns and wonder if we are getting what we pay for.

I will probably continue to bounce back and fourth between a few of them as I make my way through solving captchas.

I agree. Other captcha services like captchabot don't even bother to respond or try to address the issues when you complain.

Well dbc has evolved from best to worst. So far my programs that used to connect to solve captcha is not connecting. All fail for that matter.

I've used both DeathbyCaptcha and Decaptcher and they both have serious flaws. Decaptcher is too expensive and DeathbyCaptcha has horrendous success rates with ReCaptcha.
