Just got scammed on Alibaba.....

Hi everyone! I just got scammed on alibaba for 990usd. I sent inquiries to several companies for the intel 2600k processor.
Got many mails back and some looked suspicious because they were so cheap. So i contacted the company with the most reasonable price and 2 years gold supplier status to make a deal.
I sent them the payment via Western Union and i demanded that they send my recipt of the goods by email. So i got an Informa Invoice from them so things looked obviously good i thought.
The had recieved the payment and said they would send me a tracking number of the goods. But they never did. Instead they blocked me on Skype and removed their company from the alibaba website.
Although their company website is still up and running. Honestly i just don't get these scammers. They are only making it worse for themselves. On the tv news here, it said no Europeans want to make business with China anymore due to the fact that they get scammed or need to bribe in order to make business or the Corrupt nature of the country in general. And i get that, all i ever have been is scammed on alibaba. Have never succeded to make a deal actually, its fucking ridiculous.

The worst part is, i made deals with customers in my country. I would've made a profit because i said the goods would be here in 1 week. Now i sit here with no goods, no customers, and a big fat fuck you in my bank account. It feels so unfair, i worked really hard for my money you know. And now i have to start from scratch again.

If i could i would send a hitman to HK and retrieve my goods and rape the fucking nice talking whore while he slits her god damn throat.....maybe i should just go myself.

Not so much with the Merry Christmas this year............

That's too bad. Shit like that happens on such foreign sites. I don't think there is anything that can be done rather than forget about it and move on but it'd be useful if you report it to the local authorities, although there is very little chance of getting your funds back.

I think i'll just forget about it. It takes to much of my energy to care about it you know. I'm a honest guy and just want to deal with other honest people you know. I'm looking to deal in computer parts so if you know any other honest people. Give me a pm will you =D

That sucks man, but you are not the first nor will you be the last. If you wanna purchase stuff in china, better have someone you know there to back you up, or else some (but honestly, not all) chinese will just think its so easy to screw you.

I dont understand, isnt Alibaba sort of a middle man and the purpose for using them is so your funds are safe when purchasing? I thought they held the funds in escrow and released them upon arrival of your products?

Did you work around the system or am I understanding the system incorrectly?

Do western union scams still work lol? that's so old...Anyway..you can easily get scammed through bank wire, PayPal etc. so think twice before you buy something cheap over the internet.

Escrow is not a demand of alibaba for some reason. But they should make it so, too many people are being scammed on that site. Their forum was flooded with people being scammed. Well i was stupid enough to trust this company.

I could chargeback, but that would only affect western union since they made the transaction. And they stated that when they sned away the money, there is no way of getting it back.
That should've been a alarm sound in my head by then, its almost like western union is in on the scams. LoL.

You can get scammed through escrow.com also, they virus your computer and when you type escrow.com in the address bar you will actually enter a clone site. So if you use escrow.com make sure you wire the money only to their official bank account, not some agent or even a company name different from Internet Escrow Services.

Alibaba is directory, so you can contact companies and talk to them and order stuff. What you talk about that's Escrow on Alibaba and it's similar to Ebay (when you wanna buy small ammounts).
I am using Alibaba and when I see that company (no matter how serious they look) ask for WU money transfer as a payment option I never contact them again.

Well, when you are looking for any brand name on Alibaba then you will get scammed every single time.Alibaba isn't for newbies not even for advanced people.

Never pay by Western Union. This is about the only thing Paypal is good for, and by far the safest way to pay to these kind of companies.
