Understanding adsense and other platforms. Couple questions!

Hello everyone, I've got a couple of questions in regards of adsense (just as an example of a publishing platform).

- Lets follow this example:
I have a page ranked #1 in Google for 2 KWS. This kws are "A" and "B"
KW A has over 160k global searches a month and over 70k US searches. CPC $2
KW B has over 100k global searches a month and over 60k US searches. CPC $3
(They are exact match etc etc)

Say my page is receiving an average of 120k global searches a month (around 4k UV/day).

Two quotes from Google:
AdSense for Content, publishers receive 68% of the amount Google collects from advertisers.
For AdSense for search, publishers receive 51% of the amount collected from advertisers.

My question is, how does the formula work in order to calculate the amount of $ earned?
Can you choose to do only CPC adverts or are you forced to do CPM adverts?

As an estimate, with Google adsense, how much do you think that website could potentially earn a month?
(We'll be using other publishing networks for better revenue, just want to get a deeper understanding to GAdsense)
