What software do you prefer to manage dual monitors? such as DisplayFusion etc.

I'm using Actual Multiple Monitors which is free and gets the job done, but I'm looking for something more advanced.

Do you need software? - I just plugged them into my video card and they worked. the only setup I needed to do was identify which was number 1 and which was number 2, because the default was backwards.

Just plug and play. If you want to get fancy you could also use freeware for virtual desktop screens.

Well, I like my taskbar on both monitors. Can't be done otherwise.

I use 3, my main is in front, my media monitor is a 32 inch and sits to my right and above my main, and the on the left behind the main is my utility screen where I watch my progress and results as I work.

The one on the left is hooked up to a KVM switch with 4 ports, so when I am working on someone else's machines, I can switch back and forth between them, and my file server is on the KVM too.

I Just use default Windows feature. No extra physical of cpu usage of application :D

I use 2 monitors currently. Used to use 3. My brother uses 6.

We both use Ultramon. It allows for highly flexible layouts and scripting. For example, I can have it mirror monitors, extend taskbar, display independent taskbar etc... I also use ATIs control panel to handle monitor location.

it's all in the video card buddy.. find a video card that allows "dual view"

I run a 4 monitor setup and display fusion is nice to make a large image spread across all 4.

I don't use dual monitors right now, but I hope to find a good deal on a pair before the holidays are over. Right now I just use my netbook and 22" monitor to get things done. Better than nothing, but I'd like an upgrade sometime soon.

I've been using dual monitors for a while now. It is so helpful I can't imagine not using them. But yeah I don't use any software to manage them.

I can't really see myself going over 2 monitors. What's the reason for your brother using 6?

You'll need an active switcher. Passive switchers may (and probably do) exist. The difference would be active is powered and passives are not. No power/less power degrades quality or possible throughput.
