ARTICLEWYZ - DOWNTIME AND RECENT UPDATES
We took a lot of criticism about how last week update went - we had to go down for several hours for a database migration and had several follow-up updates correcting problems literally on the fly.
We have fairly complex architecture and infrastructure, our system distributed across multiple servers - scraping, content generation and posting subsystems controlled by main instance are talking to each other via API in the real-time and, of course, problems with any subsystem fairly quickly affect our posting queue and in the some cases we have to even flush it.
While we didn't plan last week update to be so painful, I still think we had to do it and redesign our core subsystem, because more and more it was limiting us moving forward. I've heard several times during last week - don't change anything, it's working great. Well, we want it to be much better. We want to do it like no one does.
Itseemed that everything was finally got back to normal, but as they say -"when it rains it pours". Last night we had another downtime forseveral hours. It was not related to any updates, but was a main serverproblem, which we never had yet and will be monitoring moving forward to avoidit in the future.
Of course, it's very tempting to stop any updates to let the dust settle, but we have lots of improvements lined up and we want system to be better. Can we avoid problems and down times moving forward? I only can guarantee that we will do our absolute best to make our new feature releases as painless as possible.
We are still at a fairly deep discount -
50% of our target price exactly for the reason that we are not yet where we want this system to be and our goal is to raise value of our membership and eventually justify full, not discounted price.
In fact, we are on target to reduce discount further to 40% off by end of November as ArticleWyz is definitely much more than what it was back in August, when we dropped discount to 50%. Of course, our current members will keep their current discount (we have initial group of beta users on 80% off discount
) for as long as they stay with us, but as a reminder - we do not carry discounts over for a future upgrades to a higher plan - so if you are thinking about getting into higher level plan you probably want to do it before we lower our discount in couple of weeks.
Just think about it - for less than a $3/day(WhiteWyz Plan) you can build up to 1000 verified posts a day across hundreds web2 or your own blogs, you can rotate networks potentially having unlimited blogs in your account and build huge, highly relevant and most important - you own private network. We are clearly standing aside from 99% of typical "20 Web2 posts per day" services.
Our goals are to make system more intuitive and user friendly, give our members more control over quality and variety of content, improve stats to further reduce time required to monitor your networks , notifications about any problems and gear it more toward SEO and marketing agencies.
Here are our updated plans for remaining few weeks of 2012:
Posting and Blogs:
- Add support for more web2 sites while removing ones that don't (or rarely) work, still aiming to have 100 working web2 sites by the end of 2012
- Custom blog groups - ability to create more flexible posting by creating multiple blog groups (instead of always posting to all blogs in the project) and rotate postings using different groups.
Content:
- Integration with spinning services - TBS,etc
- Keyword replacement
- TheLeadingArticles integration
- Support for videos
Links:
- Resource box type links
- Using RSS feed as a link source - !!! This will be a great way to automatically build links to your main site as it grows
- Linking from images
- Replace keyword links
- Using 2 linksets in articleset (mixing own links with authority links)
- LSI keywords - build secondary keywords automatically base on primary keyword to avoid over-optimization
Scraping:
- Separation of content and images scraping and controling them independently
- Video scraping
Pinging, Indexing and Backlinking:
- Continue adding new platforms and building more backlinks to our members networks
Other:
- Moving RankTracker from RankWyz (currently idle)
- Allow to use own proxies (to avoid sharing common pool)
- Bridge to T3 linkbuilding apps - xrumer, gsa, backlinker, etc
