Guys I think we need to clear some things here before calling the OP any names. I believe OP was just sharing what's been done. I don't see him endorsing this method whatsoever. Moreover it's been posted in the lounge. If at all he was endorsing it or was trying to encourage users in any way possible, he would have posted it in the make money section.

I've said this a thousand times and I'll say it a thousand times again. Morals are subjective, it's very ignorant to believe that all 7 billion on this planet follow the same moral code as you do.
Morals are totally philosophical, there are no right or wrong answers.
It's religion and the sort who have got us to believe there is such a thing as right or wrong.

I think you're both right.
First I want to say that I do not agree with profiting off the grief of others. there are hundreds of thousands of ways to make money, so there really is no reason to take advantage of others' ignorance.
That being said, this guy has a point. There is no real "right or wrong" in this world and anything labeled as such was brought upon us through institutions like religion. It can never be that black and white (hehe), everything is just gray.
For example, what if someone reads this and decides to take action because his family is starving and he sees this as the quickest way to make money without running the risk of getting arrested? Is it still wrong? I mean these people were looking to donate to needy families anyway right?

And if you're gonna get all biological on me, humans are not predators, they are herbivores. They have no traits of a predator, with the exception of two useless canine teeth.
Morals are subjective to culture, your upbringing from birth, the social norm of the geographical location you live in, etc. The way your moms perceives said morals is simply based on these facts. In a modern day society, someone with access to technological advancements such as the Internet are subject to the populations different perspective on an international level, whereas the "norm" for morality in an international average is fairly similar.
That being said, the monetization of a natural disaster for self-gain is morally incoherent to today's standards according to "social norm" of the situation. They are not cut off from the rest of the world, it's not like they do not see what is generally accepted as right an wrong.
Morals are NOT based on religion. They consist of the hard-wired consistent teachings you have learned from the time you were an infant, to now. Your brain is "conditioned" with the thoughts that action A is good and action B is bad. Religion is just a conditioning method, but this is ony applicable to CERTAIN religions. Some religions (IE:satanic church-goers, not tone confused with wicken) have dropped any idea of their morals.
Most of it is wasted, but that's a whole other argument.
There is no right or wrong answer since what are you comparing humans to? There has never been a creature like a human being on this planet. Humans are very opportunistic creatures, since they typically work off basic logical principles like effort vs. reward. It makes more sense to scavenge off something that A) doesn't run away like a plant - or B) something that is already dead.
Humans want to get the maximum return with the smallest amount of effort. As of today, millions of years later, that still hasn't changed. Just look around BHW, people would rather be spoon fed MMO methods than actually create something themselves.
That being said, humans will hunt and kill animals to support themselves. It's our ability to adapt that has produced 7 billion of us.
