I've had my IG account since may. Never paid for a single follower and I have a little over 19k of them now. Instagram has to be the easiest site to become popular IMO.

All I EVER did on instagram was post good pics and tag them properly, and did tons of liking. Before the api updates you could like an unlimited # of pics per day on instagram, that's when I acquired the most followers, but even now with the limitations, liking photos related to my niche (music / entertainment) works well.

You can do it both ways ... Managing a single quality account or managing a few thousand .. either way instagram is extremely viral and the average user has more than 80 followers compared to twitters twenty something.

I've been active on IG for almost a year now, got only one account with 11,000 followers. All I do is using imacros scripts to like and comment on photos. And sometimes follow/unfollow manually. It's that simple. And of course post my own photos, good ones.

Not to knock your sales but that is not the way to go on Instagram. When you have 8000 followers and get like 20 likes on a picture you post you look stupid. Best way is to go natural with great photos. Think about if you were able to provide likes to a new picture they had because you were sleep......it would look so fake
