Maybe I'm wrong on this but in order to check domains now do we have to have a Domain Tools account? If so, how many domains can we check before the account get's blocked?

Their free account says you get "limited" domain availability checks. And their $30/mo and higher accounts say you get unlimited domain lookups but with this disclaimer

"Access is unlimited for reasonable levels of human, unscripted use, as defined in our Terms of Service."

If this is the case, then I think it would be very helpful to have the option to limit which domain extensions we want to lookup. As currently we must lookup all extension and I'd rather not burn queries on .info domain lookups especially if I"m paying $30/month to domaintools.

Again, I have no clue if any of this is accurate so I'll wait to get the scoop from Clyde

It looks like it, as I'm seeing the Domain Tools fields in the Settings widget but I really hope this is not something that will be a recurrent cost. $30/month is little money, I know, but don't the rest of the KW research tools allow to check domains freely? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks.

No, you can use a free account for that.

Sure, you can use a free account, but how many queries do you get before the account is blocked. It specifically says you get "limited" queries with a free account. Unless you can get thousands of queries a day from a free account it won't be too useful.

Currently to check a keyword, you have to check all 4 domain extensions (com, net, org, info) If you check just 100 keywords that is 400 queries right there.

DomainTools really cracks down on automated queries. They know their data is valuable.

So far, i had no problem. I just runned one test for you. 1200 KW's => 4800 domains to check. Without a problem.

Review :

After the small initial problems were solved I was able to get my hands dirty with ultimate niche finder. I must say : its a simple but fantastic tool. I love the bulk domain checker!

A feature that would be really cool is some kind of scheduling mode. Maybe you could import a .txt with keywords. UNF would then expand them + also expand the keywords they generate. Then you could also set it to do domain/competition check on autopilot. Would be nice waking up in the morning and having 30 or so save files waiting to be opened :P

All in all very good piece of software!

Thanks for the awesome A++ review!

Another idea for the next update :

Include a button that deletes all keywords with no domain available !

Thanks for the suggestion.

Here's a workaround, enable filter to show only domains with no .com/net/org available, Select All then Delete.

Remove all filters and you'll have what you want.

i see that hidemyass is having a sale on VPN service. If i buy a VPN can i still analyze thousands of keywords? Or do private proxies work the best? My goal is to be be able to analyze thousands of keywords. Whats the best way? Thanks!

Private proxies are the best, we recommend proxy51.com

Hi, how does it work with non-english words?

Works perfectly! We have users from Japan and also Germany using UNF on a daily basis!

Hi clyde,

i have one suggestion.
1. when i enter a KW and click on "Add KW and Expand" the input is disabled and i cant enter new KW's as a next task. Can you allow this?

UNF is an awesome tool.

Thanx

Thanks for the great review!

FYI, you can put all your seed keywords in a .txt file, import that .txt file and then Select All -> Expand to do what you wanted.

Just wanted to drop by and give a quick review on this.

I'm huge on keyword research. I've tried tons of tools, including Market Samurai, Keyword Scout, and Longtail Pro, along with some web based ones.

UNF, hands down makes my life a million times easier. It is extremely fast, has a very slick clean GUI, and most importantly it helps me find profitable niches with about 99% automation.

The best part is, it's one of the cheaper tools out there, yet still one the best. How this makes sense, don't care.

Good Stuff Clyde. I'm a keyword research expert, and this is my go to tool.

Awesome! Great A++ review!

You heard it folks, time to BUY NOW! :)

Wait what??? We will have to pay $30/month to check for domains ???

Hey guys,

The problem with the domain checker has been fixed, you'll have to create a FREE D0mainTools account and enter your login in Settings.

Just to clear a few misconceptions:
1. You do NOT need to pay anything, a FREE account will work just fine.
2. The limitation set by them does NOT apply, we do not use their API for domain checking.

@everybody else, thanks for the new purchases!

Since I raised some of the questions I thought it only fair to confirm what Clyde said:

Just checked domain availability for 30,000 keywords using a FREE account with no problems. Whatever the limit is it is pretty high.

One question for Clyde though. Do you know if whatever limits they do have in place reset each day?

One thing that I don't think would be too difficult to make is to show only keywords where either com/net or org domain is free. This would save a lot of time.

A couple of suggestions for you Clyde.

If you can get your programmer to allow us to 'customize' the metrics used for determining competition, that would be outstanding.

For example, give us the option to customize from the following metrics:

Metric - Very Easy/Easy/Moderate/Hard/Very Hard

Page Backlinks (<10<100<500<1000<1000+)
Referring Domains to page (<10<30<100<300<300+)
Keyword in page Title?
Keyword in URL?
Keyword In Meta Description?
Keyword in Meta Title?
Domain Age (<1<3<5<8<8+)
PR (<1<3<4<5<5+)

*Also, being able to change whether to evaluate the no. 1 position, no. 1-3, no 1-5, and of course top 10 (obviously users would need to understand that the later would require much more computer/bandwidth resource.

It would be AWESOME if we could even define the numbers to the metrics, for example for somebody 100 links can be very easy, and to someone else it can be defined as very hard.

Lastly, I know these are slightly more far fetched features and probably require a ton more resources to develop the metrics for, but if there was anyway you can factor other factors such as:

Keyword Density on 1st page

Seeing at least the ability to customize the competition metrics would make my life 100x easier.

Those features above outlined by TheBlueWizard would be incredibly helpful...already very happy with this software and am just learning to use it to its full potential but more insight into and control over the SERPs difficulty rating would be #1 on my wish-list as well.

I also wanted to clarify whether proxies are utilized by UNF when accessing the Google Keyword Tool API? I've heard conflicting reports on this. If UNF is not using a proxy option to connect to GAKT and only to SeoMOZ and the Domain checker, it would be very helpful if a proxy option was added for accessing the GAKT API.

Thanks - another happy UNF customer

I think that there is a problem with the domain checker - I found a nasty glitch. I expanded the word hotel and got a lot of results (of course) and started the domain checker. It did some of the keywords, but then started to indicate that domain names are taken, where they were not. Here is a screenshot:

http://screencast.com/t/vkAuWxT6R7

I checked my account with domain tools and it is functional. The thing is that I cannot re-check whether these domain names are taken and they are indicated as taken, which really screws the whole research.

Hi,

Thanks for updating us.

No, I don't and I'm pretty sure it'll be changed regularly. Please do not mention the word D0mainT00ls in this thread.

Still thinking about the best way to implement this but you're right, shouldn't be too hard but will still cost a few programming hours.

Does UNF support other languages like French and Dutch ?

Yes, sir!

Sounds hard but we can add an option to let you choose which URL from #1-#10 that the software will use to gauge competition.

As for the other stuff, we use a combination of Page Authority and Domain Authority with a little bit more emphasize on Domain Authority.

Those features above outlined by TheBlueWizard would be incredibly helpful...already very happy with this software and am just learning to use it to its full potential but more insight into and control over the SERPs difficulty rating would be #1 on my wish-list as well.

Thanks for the review!

It's impossible to use proxies when accessing GAKT because they'll prompt a security verification screen whenever there's an IP-change.

Seems like a problem with your system. Please send an email to support: askclyde-at-hotmail.com

Make sure you don't have any antivirus/antispyware/firewall/proxies/IE settings blocking the software.

I'm getting the correct results:

Hello, just purchased your program and sent you email about the uNiches
thanks

I was wondering if you've thought about multi-threading the adw0rds keyword lookup side of things?

For example loading in multiple adw0rds accounts that are assigned to a specific private proxy.
