Facebook Going Going Gone…

someone think im superman i can do all i want, then he wake up it was a dream

Email sure does seem like a great social tool. I'm sure it will get big soon.

I would give Facebook maybe 3 to 5 years before it becomes the next Myspace - perhaps sooner with the free fall of the stock price. The entire problem always starts and ends with "how can we make money from our users" People in general are pretty tired of the social scene, including me. I like using Facebook to really just chat for just a few minutes every few days with friends or family around the world. I hate wasting hours on any social network and simply will not.

Anyone that bought into Facebook after the initial public offering was only out for 1 thing - MONEY. Once again, it shows Wall Street at its best - NOT....Greedy buggers...

Oh well - if you can't afford to loose money, then don't invest in the stock market.

Cheers

I can picture a hybrid of twitter + pinterest gaining big interest.

The new Digg is sort of a hybrid between twitter and pinterest, with a news focus.

My own vision of the next facebook is that it will be an aggregation, almost like an RSS feed that will join together all of your separate social networks--foodspotting for food, OK Cupid for dating, pinterest for fashion etc, all rolled into one. That way, people can customize it to their liking and handle all their online and offline friends/interests in one place.

Despite all the financial losses at facebook I don't see it going down any time soon. Every one uses facebook "EVERY ONE ". I think there biggest problem is mobile users , once they find a way to monetize that they'll be fine.

From my experience people are moving away from social media in general including me. Seeing other peoples status updates just aren't interesting anymore and more and more of wall is disappearing. I think posting to facebook is become a chore and is no longer interesting to see what people think or if they like a pic or page.

Net Income was up 3.5% year over year to $295.0 million. However, including stock-based compensation, payroll-tax expenses related to share-based compensation and income tax adjustments, the company reported net loss of $157.0 million in the quarter.
Facebook ended the quarter with cash & cash equivalents of 10.19 billion. The company generated $242.0 million as cash flow from operations in the quarter.

Who is going to replace them though? That will be interesting to see.

they will be replacing themselves my friend.
the same people control every major social network.
once facebook gets old, the same people will come up with some "new" site that the masses will easily buy into.
works everytime....

It's cool that you guys are in to stocks and shit, FB still needs break under $19 to hit the crucial point. It was simple math that the 16th would be a hit downwards for the FB stock when employees got to sell their stocks.

Eitherway, start shorting this stock and get some cash.

No, still convinced that Facebook has a pretty bright future ahead. The best is yet to come for them. They will definitely have ups and downs though.

Facebook has become too iron grip and insane on the privacy issues.its become too serious and also they keep updating their site and removing popular tools that people like.and now will the now fb page systems.its absolute rubbish.

Another investor in facebook sells out

NEW YORK (AP) — Peter Thiel, one of Facebook's earliest investors and a member of its board, was among the insiders selling stock in the social network after a lockup expired last week.

A regulatory filing on Monday said that Thiel, a former CEO at PayPal sold about 20 million shares of Facebook through affiliates such as his Founders Fund and other entities last week. The shares were sold on Thursday and Friday for between $19.27 and $20.69, for a total of about $396 million.

Ah some good news at last! Go die privacy killer and please take g00gle with you..

Well I am going to sleep on this thread. LoL always gives me good dreams to
think Facebook is on their way out. I am starting to see a pattern with Social
Networking. It goes up and creates a bubble. Then it pops. I am so damn tired
of seeing Facebook. I cannot even drink a cup of coffee in the morning without
seeing " Like our coffee " It really is pollution. :pirate14:

When every person i met started asking me if I had a facebook, it was time to get out. The final straw was standing in line at the grocery store, listening to a couple bicker about what they were saying on their respectives FB pages. Are kidding me? Seriously, come back to freaking reality. Same thing with myspace, I got out quick. Besides i find social media sites to all end up being a players nightmare.
