Not another seo is dead thread!
As long as it will be an algorithm to classify sites, seo will be alive and kicking.
So yes they will factor and rate sites different in a few years, maybe in a few months but seo will still be here.
It will become harder for the small guy/company to compete, but i'm sure will find a way.

I feel Its very hard to make a perfect career in this field, I have almost 4 years experience in the same field,

Its not as simple as we are thinking! We are totally seo dependent and we dont know what will happen of seo?
The face of seo have been changed fully compare to 2-3 years so how we can say that to select SEO as career is safe?

Yeah - there is no number one for most phrases in google any more.
I looked and the SERPs for some keywords start at number 28. Nothing from 1-27..oh dear
And then...
Those that do have a number one - the webmasters achieved it by magic. If you look closely at the HTML code you'll notice that the lines of code "sparkle" and that's illegal use of magic dust. I'm surprised Google haven't clamed down on that.

Or is my answer as full of crap as your question?

[EDIT] VALUE YOUR SITE MORE. Most SEO (which a lot of guys here still do) is 90% links 10% site. I'm not saying LSI works wonders or thsat a ton of content will win every battle BUT effective SEO is now probably AT LEAST 33% content 66% links or even more.

I've been thinking the very same...

I ranked #1 for one of my client's site for a competitive keyword a couple of months back..Now it's down by a couple of positions due to the recent algo updates! Which resulted in loss of Traffic... This got me thinking..finally these are my conclusions..

SEO is just one of those many Online Marketing Strategies.... Any Marketing Strategy is not a One Time task and reap the benefits forever kind of stuff...

Ultimately it's all about the relationships you build with your prospects/clients..so that you can sell to them long-term! they are your valuable asset...

if you're offering SEO for your Clients then ask this question to yourself...

How can I improve the ROI for this client? That's what matters to a Business owner... as soon as the site gets traffic..start collecting emails...educate your client on the value a Responsive Email List! ask him to start building relationships with the list..

The point is leveraging the rankings when you have them....why should we base our income on a continuously altering algorithm...

Start learning other marketing strategies Social media, PPC etc..

Ultimately make your business resistant to any Google Slap! Use SEO as short term traffic generation strategy..leverage when you can...diversify your traffic sources and income sources as well...

Why would you say that? Those who are on page 1 also have done SEO (obviously better than you). Hence the reason for their better ranking. So, SEO is not dead or will not be dead. Only the strategies will change. Learn the new rules and be flexible.
