Ok...

so I made a post yesterday documenting a method I use to get clients and the response was great, I liked the rep points to so now you all converted me into an information rep whore. Here is another one.

The Method

I have a pretty good extensive knowledge of media buying I mainly use it for my own products and affiliate marketing, however recently did a test mixing my web design with my media buying. The setup was very simple...

I found niche hobbyist sites, for example, a site that was full of DJs, or a site full of Plumbers, etc. To make my life easier I used an Ad network so that I can find my sources fast. I personally used www.sitescout.com

Moving forward...

I advertised to them " Free Sites for DJs " --> in a variety of different ways, angles, shapes, and colors, in fact in the below picture you can see 15 of my ads that I tested, in the end I tested over 20. These individuals were led from the banner ad to a landing page.

The Landing Page

The Landing page was built with OptimizePress (squeeze page 08), my headline and copy was less then 200 words long, and my squeeze just had a name and email that dropped the individual on a list. They were then sent to a thank you page which showcased a DEMO picture of what their site would look like and asked them questions... also allowed them to upload a profile pic for their new website.

The Website

I'm a decent coder, also have a programmer so together we utilized Wordpress MU to almost automate the entire process of setting up their website. What we did was setup a free subdomain, so it would look like this www.djsites.com/nickname

After the questionnaire, the user was taken to a page in which it showed them the new name of their site and upsold them on the idea of getting their own domain name, www.yourname.com, also it sold a Search Engine Submission all for only $7.00/M

So I took them from Free --> to Demo --> to interactive lead (filling in the form) --> to upselling $7/M for a branded site and Search Engine Submission (not SEO... submission). This worked out great, look at the results below. One thing to notice is that I tested a lot of different ads.

The Ads that worked best

From my experience with media buying the ads that worked best were the ones that really pre-qualified the user and targeted the specific website I was advertising on. For example, if it was BHW that I would advertise on the ads would say something like ---> "A BHW Exclusive" , Pre-qualifying the user is was resulted in a great Conversion Rate, you can see we got as high as 30% conversions.

What's great about this model is the scalability.

I only utilized 250,000 impressions in one day, where my traffic source does reach 3M impressions a day. Thus this can be scaled 8 times this, which we are working on now. What's also great about this method is the passive income the monthly scores for you.

------------------------

  • I didn't charge for the domain, I purchased it for them, used a domain finder script for them to tell us what name they wanted, we are hosting the websites for them, initially I was going to integrate Hostgator etc into the mix, but wanted to keep it simple and seamless
  • Followed up with 3 email series explaining why they need their own domain name from the list built from the landing page, this contributed to the conversions as well.

Hope this helped.

Nice method . All those who are going to try this you can sell them other services and charge them for those services too .
