I checked a spammy wemsite of mine (a one page site full of crappy content and Dozens of links) and its authority note is better than a white hat site (and this WH site ranks better)

So I'm wondering if this seomoz tool is just a gadget or what....

BTW - just for everyone to know - Guest Blog Posting will be the Biggest thing after Panda 3.3. I wanted to call it right now in this thread. You will also begin to see a rise of Guest Blog Networks. But these networks are NOT good. They will begin to lose its effectiveness as well. It's BEST to go to sites that DON'T participate in guest blog postings! UNLESS those guest blog networks require a legitimate post every other post without links

If you get a link from a PR3 with domain authority of: 30
But if you get a link from a PR2 with a domain authority of: 60

The one with the higher domain authority gives more weight to the brand new domains. We literally saw the anchor keyword we were targeting for rank higher which had the backlink from the domain with the higher authority

I have a question on the calculation part, it gets me little confused that if I write bigger article, I will have less chance of having good back link.

lets say a site has the domain authority of 30, so if I write an article of 700 words, calculation gives me a value of 23.3 ( over 20) which should not worth of try but if I write a smaller article of 500 words, then the calculation gives me the value of 16.6 (less than 20), which makes it worth of try.

Please Remember: You MUST use a different browser (I recommend Safari), and log out of ALL google tools, webmaster, adsense, analytics, gmail, youtube. When visiting the guest posting site. And especially do not visit your own article, especially in chrome. Google can aggregate all this data and know you may have something to do with the article.

You posted a lot of great info, but the aforementioned paragraph confuses me. Guest blogging by nature is an admission that you submitted a guest blog post. What is the issue with visiting the site you plan on writing an article for in the future? It seems like it would appear to Google that you visited the site before to learn more about its demographics, goals, etc. before writing the article.

He's referring to the minimum word count to post the article. In your example, if the minimum was 700, it wouldn't be worth it. If the minimum was 500, then it would be a good candidate. Does that make sense?

It seems to be pretty expensive, as one guest post would probably be $15.

Very useful. My question is how do you check domain authority en mass? If I collect a few hundred domain names that allow guest posts, it could take forever to finish getting their domain authority one by one.
