Great post, I have had some health issues recently and did alot of research into things like parasites and fungi, I can honestly say I am a firm believer in this article as I have experienced alot of personality changes and rapid mood swings, the best battle against these things is to avoid carbs and sugar, however they are basically usually found in people with weak immune systems which have numerous causes, so really the biggest issue is toxicity that is suppressing the immune system which then leaves an open door for parasites and fungi.

There was an article I saw yesterday about how carbs cause depression and fish prevents depression due to their omega 3 acids. Im going to try to look for it again.

Most animals actually contain parasites, infact theres a good chance everyone has them or at least has had them in the past, depression can be caused by a multitude of things IMO, there are many vitamins that can help, I know one of the big issues with depression is a fungal infection called candida, this can produce emotional upset and is said to produce 79 toxins, as you can imagine this has a huge effect on your brain, then there are various hormone issues that are typically not diagnosed, perhaps the most common cause has to be living in the past or living in the future, people project things or circumstances into the future and get depressed because they think that things will never change.

There's alot of evidence for emotional issues and parasite or yeast connections, theres a herb called oil of oregano which is anti parasite and fungus, this likely won't rid your body of these but if taken for a while you may see dead things when going to the toilet, no pleasant.

I am trying to gradually reduce my carb/sugar in take. Hopefully down to a very low bare minimum. Minimum as in, as low as I can go without sneaking in some here and there (that is sugars). Eating some carbs is essentially unavoidable, but I try and do the best I can do avoid the main culprits as much as possible.

What I have to say is though, especially in reference to fastlaners comment about personality change -- I just started trying to cut out carbs around 2 weeks ago. The first 3-4 days were really good, probably with close to 0 carbs from things like pastas, sugars etc. I mainly ate meats and things high in fat/no carbs. On the 3rd/4th day I felt my personality/mood was 'increased'. Not substantially, but I had 'random feelings of happiness' occur -- these feelings of happiness seemed to have long been forgotten. I just felt better, I have no idea how to explain it but now that you guys have mentioned it - this must have been what had caused this up lift.

Unfortunately for the last 4 days I have been studying for exams, and I am bad with procrastination when it comes to studying - and pretty much do anything I can do avoid studying. This means eating.. and I have been eating more than I should be when it comes to chocolate, etc. My exams are today, so I'll be trying to go back to a very low carb intake and see where it takes me.

You mean pure cocoa, right? Unfortunately the chocolate I am referring to is the Easter eggs that are still left in the household and stuff like that. I suspect lots of refined sugars are in them

I have heard before (but have not looked into) that cocoa is it's pure form is good. I have also read about cinnamon being good. Strangely, my dad puts cinnamon into his sparkling water and says he enjoys it. Also puts it into his tea. I don't mind the taste, but I am pretty sure he is doing it because it's said to be good. Might have something to do with fighting candida, because he has read up a lot about that.

No, he's talking about xocolatl. Easter chocolate would be nothing like it. If you crave chocolate, dark chocolate is better than white or milk, in terms of health. it has more antioxidants and is supposed to be good for the heart in small quantities.

I'm on day 4 of my no-sugar water (soda, sweet tea, gatorade, etc...) diet. Eventually plan to evolve to a strict NO-carb diet. I'm carrying an extra 30 lbs. of blubber, and I'm tired of it. Noticed that one critical step is to slow down on the impulse to buy a coke, etc... and simply ask myself if I really want it. I then visualize 2 futures, 1) I give in to the impulse, buy the coke, drink the coke and then how do I feel? vs. 2) Don't buy the coke, go home and get a big glass of ice water, drink it and then how do I feel? I always choose the second, if I simply give myself enough time to ask the question and then answer it.

Realized in the middle of it that this is the same method I used to quit smoking 1 1/2 years ago.

Also, on topic, in certain paranoid and chemically altered moments I wonder if microscopic life wasn't collectively intelligent, like for example an infection isn't a bunch of singularities running around in your body randomly causing problems, but rather it is a coordinated effort on the part of the entire whole to kill you. Thought about writing some kind of Sci-Fi, James Blish-style novel about the idea. Maybe write the novel from the AIDS virus's point of view.

Sugar and glucose feed parasites and fungal infections, even fruit is restricted on the anti candida diet, we supposidly all have these gut bacteria but start out at 85% good guys and the rest are the bad guys, general things can effect this balance and lead to stomach issues and these bacteria are really what synthesizes B vitamins, these are the things that go on to create brain chemicals.

All I know is that I have health issues that I'm convinced are due to toxicity, my selenium levels are low which is the main heavy metal detox, Im really dont care about how I get better but all I know is that the drugs and dr's dont seem to have alot of answers, I've had the most benefits from short water fasting and the anti-candida diet, both times I visabily seen things passing when going to the toilet, I looked it up and it matched perfectly with dead yeast cells.

I tried the MEVY diet which is meat, eggs, veggies and yogurt, the yogurt must be no sugar or low sugar, greek style is good.

I also seen great progress with high doses of vitamin C, I seemed to get increase testosterone, less depression and anxiety and more energy, must be careful with this one though as it can lead to lowered copper levels and also the runs if the dose is to high.

Vitamin D is another one I experimented with, took around 500mg and it was a very strange feeling, felt very calm and relaxed

I've done the low carb thing for years for weight loss.I stuck to a strict diet of eggs,salad,chicken and veggies and lost a pound a day with working out.I also noticed my mood changed,I felt better and my sex drive went through the roof oddly enough.you don't want to go zero carbs..get your carbs from fresh fruit and veggies.you eat that,you will feel awesome.

There's a "whack-job" on the radio talking about dental health and how you can add years to your age by receiving proper dental care. Turns out, the "crackpot" theories are correct, chronic mouth infections cause heart disease. Had a Dr. say just yesterday that "If you don't floss your teeth, you are going to get heart disease." Not to me, of course. I'm a fanatic. Brush, floss and 2 different mouthwash rinses.
