Question for meathead:

I've read all 24 pages of this thread and didn't see it asked so here goes, you say that now you make a lot of money from this method with your main business. Just wondering how much (like posts per day or hours per day) and how long (months?) that you were posting to get to where you were making good money with this?

And how long did you have to keep this up, i.e. were you able to scale back so now you either don't post or post much less, and still make great money from your previous posting?

EXAMPLE: I used to post 20 to 30 posts on forums per day for 3 months before I was making money. Now I only post 5 to 10 a day, etc.

Thanks meathead, I'm currently using this plan as a bit of a test to learn the basics of IM. Haven't had a problem yet it hasn't even been a day and I couldn't have posted more than 20 backlinks but the hits are already starting to show up. And with google alerts finally working properly for me I'm getting more pages to post on every hour. I'll keep the system going and post back with my results in a week.

It occurred to me that once I've done my research and decided on a niche and product, that it might be a good idea to start the process of posting on forums and building up a trusted rep on them while at the same time working on my review site. My thinking is that this would same me some time because hopefully by the time my site is ready to go, I will already be at a point on the various forums that I can add links in my posts or signatures without getting banned.

What do you think? Does this seem like a reasonable strategy?

Yeah I'm still focusing on one fresh site, I plan on adding two more after the first week since it's working so well. But I can't see adding more than 2. 3 sites won't require an insane amount of results and should get me the profits I'm looking for.

But I am not going to put a lot of effort into it; and I think I will test this using a subdomain to see what happens...

Just wondering who do you use to outsource this? Sites like elance or something, and do you change up the passwords on the accounts to protect them, or are you just having them make throw away accounts and post on them?

Don't add Adsense. Part of the reason this method is so effective is that it looks like the site is NOT built for commercial purposes (ie making money) so most moderators will let your links ride. You want it to look like an impartial review site written by someone who is personally interested in the niche rather than making money out of it.

If I understand you correctly, my site shouldn't have banner ads, or anything else that looks "commercial" on it. I don't like Adsense so that part doesn't matter to me.

That's right. The trick is for them not to realise it's an affiliate link and assume the review is genuine and unbiased.

So the affiliate link should be cloaked and then attached to some piece of text in my review, right? For example, if I'm reviewing product xyz, I might want to have the words product xyz be my link? Am I headed in the right direction? I'm so used to thinking that I have to have banners and links to text in big letters and in the readers face. This sounds like it's more subtle.

I don't know why people expect it to be a 10 minute job and then $100/day autopilot. I worked my ass off for years to start making a decent income, and you're complaining that people will get discouraged when they see "how much work there is"? Even if you literally know nothing, ANYONE can have this up and running with a week. That's not really much to ask for $100 a day. That's a decent full time income in almost any country.

Just wanted to add an "Amen!!!" to this. My wife and I created our first website two weeks ago, wrote articles, set up banners, added links, started backlinking and more. I said to her one night, anyone who says IM is easy is nuts. She reminded me, "if it were easy, everyone would be doing it." I had to laugh. By the way, can I just scream, I HATE SEO. lol.

I just wish I had read this thread before I started working on our site. Think I'll buy a domain name and get going on this method in addition to working SEO on the other one.

That's exactly what I did, used a cheap cookie-cutter blog with a freebie domain/hosting. Day 1, 8 unique hits and $66.13 in profit :third:. Pretty sure I just got lucky but half way through day 2 and I have 12 unique hits. I'd be psyched if I got another purchase today.

im doing this now, niche should be decent but there are not that many blogs that are opened to comment on. i do write lengthy comments that should get pass review. all a matter of waiting.. i find that i get a trickle of uniques coming in so its really tempting to scale this but hard to avoid being classified as spam.

If you read through the thread, quite a few people have said they have made money.

It definitely works, you just need to actually do it
