What Else Could I be doing?

My site doesnt seem to be ranking well, however, there is little competition for my keyword(s) and none of them are ranking. I would like to know what else I should be doing in order to rank my blog.

I currently have written 6, 400-600 word articles and published them to EZine/GoArticles.
I have submitted my blog to about 20 Directories

My Daily Routine​

1. I write about 1 article a day and try writing more.
2. I post the articles to twitter and facebook
3. I created an RSS feed for the posts
4. I answer approximately 3-5 Yahoo Answers with my website as the source
5. I answer approximately 3-5 Quora Answers with my website as the source

My Question is, What else should/can I be doing to increase traffic and to start ranking with my keywords?

You need some high PR backlinks. Try to get some and hope your ranking will improve. Add more unique content to your site with a keywords density of 1%-2%.

How would I get high PR Backlinks?
Whats considered a backlink? I have been posting on other peoples blogs/forums and writing my website as the source or reference. Is that considered a Backlink?
Also, how do I check my backlinks and Search Engine Ranking?

How would I check my keyword density?
And all of my content is 100% unique, I write them from scratch and dont use any sources besides for my own common knowledge.

If your website is new it can take up to a few months to start ranking, lastly as someone else said try to get backlinks with high pr even if its one or two at a time. To get those look around forums alot of people sell a spot on their website for your link per month or year.

High PR blog commenting. Some edu/gov blogs too.
Social Bookmarking of the articles.
Scrapebox blast on the article URLs and Social bookmark URLs, and little on your site.

I have been doing this for about two weeks. I have 15 links indexed and I now have 7 articles, only 3 have been accepted to eZine Article and 4 are pending approval with more being added daily. When you say properly optimized what do you mean? What is considered properly optimized. I am using my keywords in anchor titles and <h1> tags for each article. What is considered a backlink? Simply typing my URL on someone elses blog with a comment?

What is considered social bookmarking of the articles? Simply posting the Articles to a Social Bookmarking Site such as Digg/De.lici.us/redd.it/foursquare?
And what do you mean scrape box blast? I blast the URL of where my Article is located for example: "ezine.c0m/MY_ARTICLE"

Keyword density is how many keywords show up per 100 words. If you have a 3 letter keyword such as "Weight Loss Pills" including it one time in 100 words would be a density of 3%, if you added the keyword to a 300 word article it would be a 1% density.

A backlink is your website URL listed on someone else's website. It doesn't matter if it is a blog, a forum, or any other type of website, all count as a backlink. It is important that the page is do-follow though, otherwise the backlink doesn't count.

You can check to see if a page is do-follow or no-follow by looking at the source code. If you see the nofollow tag in the code then it is not do-follow and you shouldn't bother posting a backlink to your site there.

You can also check if links on a site are do-follow with FF's do-follow link checker addon.

Hope this clears up a few of your questions.

Facebook and Twitter gives no-follow links. They can provide a very good Social Media Platform, but not backlinks, and So is the Yahoo Answers. For backlinks here are the things you can do-Directory Submission(There are millions of them where you can links easily), Article Submission, Press Release, Social Bookmarking, Forum Links, Blog Comments, Blogroll, Profile Links, Link Exchange, Wiki links, and a lot more.

I would strongly recommend a gradual link campaign (unless you're indifferent to transient deindexing) If you are indifferent, create as many links, high PR, .edu/.gov and otherwise for your site as you can until you sit ontop of google. If your site is financially viable, you may wish to consider investing in a specific link service.

When you say A lot more can you perhaps give me an outlined list as to what exactly are all the possible ways of generating backlinks? That way I can formulate a checklist of all types of backlinks and how to acquire them in an easy and formalized way.

IE:
Directory Submission: (Provide links with the Best Directory Submission sites for backlinks)
Article Submission: (Provide links with the best Article Submission sites for backlinks)
Etc...

Perhaps we can make it an open group project to have the whole BHW community chip in. Then we would be able to create a long list as the Official Do-Follow Backlink List. Maybe give some feedback on this suggestion?

1. I currently do not want to be spending any money on this but what would be considered the best backlinking service on BHW or on the Web?
2. How would I find High PR .edu/.gov links? They dont really come up in the search ranking for my keyword. Is there a specific type of search I should be doing like: Site: "Keyword"".gov"

I dont get it though, I checked for a backlink checker and it says my site has 0 backlinks? what is a reliable site to check backlinks?
