WordPress Blog Hacked, What To Do?

Today i woke up and found out that all my wordpress websites have been hacked! When you open them up a message comes up that says:

How can i restore my wordpress blogs back to normal?

do you have a backup? it's always best to have one, ask your hosting provider if they got one for you

if u dont have a backup (why not??) u should quickly access goog caches for as many pages on ur sites as u can.. at least it will be a start to restoring ur site?

All your php files on that host will be infected so you will need to have your host remove all the code or get a backup copy.

Also you will probably continue to get hacked until you find the backdoor and remove it, check plugins and themes first.

If you dont have a backup copy but (not to put salt on an already open wound) you should have one. But IF you do not, then ask your hosting provider for back up data.

I do not have a backup from my sites. All my sites are gone now, need to start it all over again I will move to a new host today, so i can start fresh

Rewind backwards and think what were the latest stuff you installed on your hosting to prevent from happening again and maybe warn us too.

I just got hacked by dr-mtmrd. I found the bad php index file, but I am not sure how to fix it. It looks like a simple code, but I am not sure what it is.

I suggest these steps, because the database should still be intact:

- Make a copy of the actual files, even if it is not worth.
- Make a dump of your database if you can.
- Disable all your plugins and theme by deleting the folders (you have a copy from step 1)
- Download a fresh version of Wordpress and install wordpress from scratch
- Reupload your database.
- Make a backup of the site.
- Reinstall a new theme and redownload the plugins from their sources.

Can you still logon to your host cpanel or control panel? (the majority of decent hosts - including hostgator if you use them, use cpanel) - get onto the host control panel (NOT your Wordpress wp-admin - that is different) - your host has probably quietly been making daily backups (at least database backups - which is 90% of your wordpress site) for you - investigate that asap.

If it is all your sites you need to make sure your computer is clean before you do anything on it. There is a virus/trojan that sucks up all your ftp info from your ftp program and sends that info out.


OK got sucked into another old thread. WTF is going on with all the months or years old threads getting opened back up lately?

I just contacted hostgator and they fixed inside an hour

make sure you change all your passwords, and try to see f your mail or computer was compromised, or it will start over again...

i wonder if those plugins really work to protect wp blog from those hackers

or try last pass i jear it good to protect wp blog from hacker and keylogger

Yeah definitely hit up your host support because some offer incremental backups without user intevention. If not shit can those bastards and find a new host.
