I have made a custom home page, added in a search bar, 10 links I go to often and a java script clock that takes about half of the screen up.

Umm... In Chrome all my IM stuff, around 20 sites I guess. In Firefox my PTC stuff (yeah, I do that, lol) 15 sites. And in Safari some random sites, I guess it has just about:blank as "homepage".

mine is set to blank, but it doesn't matter much, because i never close bhw and a few other sites, so they're loading automatically when i start firefox
