Paypal problem (please help, will pay)

Hi all,

My old paypal account was permanently limited. I was ebaying stuff, got too many complaints and that was that. I'm now living in a different country. I was hoping they couldn't track me, but somehow they did. I guess because I have the same name and date of birth, it seems impossible but somehow they did it. They are requesting a photo ID and a proof of residence. Now the proof of residence is no problem for me, but the ID is. I don't have a passport for this country, or even a driving licence. I only have my old passport. They don't have a copy of it on file, however it shows what county I'm born in. They want a photo ID that proves I'm living where I say I am.

Has anyone got any ideas? It's extremely hard to get a passport here, and my housemate has agreed to talk to them on the phone (in a different language.) I think if I can convince them that I am unable to get a new passport they might unlimit me. Thoughts?

They are asking for proof of residence to prove where you live, and they are asking for ID to prove who you are, why should it be a problem that you have a passport from a different country?

IMO you do not have a problem. I was banned from paypal years ago, and I now have a different paypal account. The only thing that has changed is that I'm living in a different house in the same country.

How quick after you created your account did they ask for these details? Would there be any other reason for them to flag you? such as taking all of the money out of your account.

A guy charged back $200 as a gift then the problems started. Just this morning it happened. The problem with my passport from my homeland is it shows the state I live in. No, I didn't attempt to cash everything out.

It was my second transaction. The chargeback got them to look deeper into my account I guess.

Hmm,, I guess you're did something illegal.. Because Paypal dont care where are you living..,
They just need to know are you really owner of Paypal account and Credit card...
If you're did legal things so just sent them your passport copy ... and tell them you're living in different country...

I don't think you understand my problem correctly, I have to prove to them I'm just a guy living here with the same name and nationality. If I tell them I'm the owner of the other account, they will instantly limit me. But thanks for your contribution.

Lol i have two Paypal account one for business one for private use ...
Both of them Verified... Paypal didnt limit my accounts

My old paypal was permanently limited due to a few complaints in a very short space of time. It was extremely unlucky, I was doing nothing illegal just selling stuff that broke ebay's ToS (I wasn't the only one).

That won't work... that's terrible advice. There are programs you can find on google where you can search the serial number on a passport.

Hi,
I'm having similiar problems with PayPal and my advice is 'Stuff PayPal" and use another payment processor like 2CheckOut. They are just as good and you won't loose sales just because your not using PayPal. They are a bunch of dicks living in their own little world.

Why not call Paypal and explain to them the situation?
As long as you legitally do business and want to get the problem solved.
They should run you through the process and help you...
