How to promote amazon products?

@ Zoco1

Some members here have shared Amazon marketing stuff. I myself too. Do a quick search at members download section.

A product targeted Niche Blog wit EMD, unique content, SEO and some old fashioned elbow grease :D

That some good advice, thanks to you I have a new way to lay-out articles that might be better then the way I'm currently doing it.

+Thanks, Awesome!

Here is what I find works best:

Find a product that has great reviews, and I would say in the diet niche, quite new, not some old weight loss system that has been around for years.

Decide what the main point of the product is - lets say it is called "Get Rid Of Your Muffin Top in 10 Days" we know it is a diet to get rid of muffin top.

Then use this 5 questions approach to write an article or post. (I got this from a copywriting course here on BHW, I will try to find the link for it - but basically this is the method the woman uses to sell products in a nutshell)

1. What is the problem?

So this is your opening paragraph - identify the problem and expand on it. Say how muffin top is very common in women of a certain age, that is extremely hard to get rid of once it sets in, and how unattractive it is.

2. Why hasn't the problem been solved?

This is your second paragraph. So you would write how most diets target general fat, and nobody has devised a way that focuses specifically on muffin top in the past. And anyway, even if they had, 90% of diets are just too hard to stick to.

3. What is possible?

In your third paragraph you tell them if they were able to get rid of their muffin top, they would look much better, they would be able to wear stylish clothes, and their husbands might even start fancying them again. It would also be less strain on their hearts, they would have more energy, etc, etc.

4. What is different now?

The fourth paragraph will be about how things are different now, because someone has actually devised a way to get rid of ugly muffin top that is not hard to stick to, it doesn't require loads of exercise or expensive items, and it really works.

5. What should they do now?

This last paragraph is your call to action:

i.e. "Click here now to read about how hundreds of Amazon users are reducing their muffin tops with ""Get Rid Of Your Muffin Top in 10 Days".

This is really easy once you get the hang of it. The first four paragraphs only need to be about 75 to 100 words, and in my experience, it is working well with Amazon.

It is working for me. I used to do what the OP is trying, sticking my amazon affiliate widgets here and there, linking to a store etc, but I hardly ever made a cent. Things got a bit better when I would devote one post/page to a product saying it was great blah blah, but I didn't have the formula right. The way I learned it in the book I read makes sense - because you tap into the reader's emotions, and ultimately that is what sells.

The widgets or code from Amazon won't get a reader excited or hopeful, but what I described above does :)

awesome information here. because of this i will try amazon this week.

I never get money from amazon product selling! it is very hard to get product sold!

I guess I'll have to make another blog/website because the one that i have now is not product oriented, it's more of a content/advice website + Ads*nse

Does anybody know a page or service where you can find the most discounted offers?

Yeah thats very hard for me coming from doing adsense for it seems like forever. Totally different method all together. Definitely not used to featuring "products". Definitely don't know what the prospective "buyer" is thinking.

I guess it's going to be a bit of a guessing game for me to start out, knowing what people want and how to sell their ass a bit on the product....

Like, the one Adsense site I have now, I said, well, I'm gonna try to ad some product reviews. Only thing is, when I go to look for products on that niche, theres like 20 of them, and only perhaps 3-5 reviews for each. So, obviously, people are buying the products somewhere else. I will try a little to get the cookie on their comp, perhaps they will buy something else, but, for this site, amazon is just not going to work...

Like, when I look up information on hmm earmuffs lets say... I dont type in Ear muff xb45xy model review .. hell, i don't even put review in.. So do you have to optimize for ear muff which is hard as hell.... ughhh

Barca, any update on that book that you read, the name of it?

Many people these days are "banner blind." I would create further reading lists for your Amazon links to books on related subjects at the end of each post. Additionally, you could use text links in your posts and "recommend" these products.

I find that it is best to find your main niche and make sure you do your keyword research, and when i say that I mean in-depth keyword research. Get your main key phrase and plug that into google search. Grab related terms for that phrase then copy all the keywords you gathered and place them into google adwords keyword tool. The keywords that I look for are longer tail keywords that have some sort of traffic and a very low competition. These are going to be the main keywords that your posts or articles are going to be on. You can then gather more keywords for related posts on those long tail keywords. The idea is to use these keywords though out your website/posts. If you do it correctly you will have very very related unique content that is optimized for what google suggests is relevant There is a lot more that I do but this is the main idea when doing SEO for my amazon affiliate sites

Along with promotion, how the hell do you get 100+ links with anchor text in them for this stuff. Can't go around on blog posts and use best haircomb reviews online all over the place... I can see writing 10 articles and then 10 2.0's and some social bm That gets you about 30 backlinks.... How the heck do you get other anchored links with long product names?

I write something like:

Click Here for more information on the "Flat Belly Diet" and read how hundreds of buyers have lost their ugly belly fat and are quickly regaining a slim healthy figure.

I think that ignites curiosity and they want to at least take a look at what other people are saying about it. This works with "desperate buyers niches" - not too sure how it would work for a vacuum cleaner or MP3 player though.

Those who have said their sites are more content sites rather than review sites...so are mine, but I will add a post called "Weight Loss for Over 40s" for example. Then instead of writing about weight loss for over 40s, I write about a product on Amazon which is aimed at over-40s fatties.

I don't so this for all posts, just throw one in every now and then.

How would you do SEO for a site that offers sorted lists, deals ordered for discount? I have something like that , but seems google doesn't love lists...

I guess add some review pages. I don't think you need hundreds of pages to get to the top of G, as long as what you have doesn't have a high bounce rate. I would maybe target some low-comp KWs that have a certain amount of searches and write some reviews.

You could either follow the route of describing the problem etc, and recommend a product or describe the problem etc and then say the product isn't much good for that particular problem, and XYZ product is better.

ok, adding normal product reviews/reports. But ranking the lists seems difficult. I have 78 lists with 30-50 items each, updated 2times a day, so the pages change and keywords are not alwys the same. I guess i will add a static part to give google something to eat.

How much money do you make by just trowing a post or two once in a while?
