Autoblogs= $$$

The UAW plugin seems to be causing many people issues and I'm wondering if it is category selection method or similar.

For example, I have a site on Xbox360 games etc. I am using the UAW plugin and within its settings I have selected a category called "Xbox 360 Articles" for it to post to. Now the uberarticles.com directory that I understand this plugin is pulling the articles from does not have a category called that - the nearest one would appear to be "video games".

Maybe the issue is that the Xbox 360 Articles category is too narrow for it to determine what articles to send.

If so, perhaps my blog is not quite suitable and would be better if it was a broad video games niche for this plugin. Only the people with the working plugin can confirm I think.

Finally, when I check the uberarticles.com it seems to have no new articles on Xbox360 in the last few days anyway so maybe it only sends new articles and not archived ones?

Maybe shylesson or other UAW successes can confirm.

for the UAW question

u only get articles when the UAW members submits their articles to be distributed

and if u read the FAQ, he alrdy suggested not to use a narrow category, else you get few articles or none at all. so if u put xbox 360, maybe u might get 1,2 articles in a month depending peoples that submits them.

if you chose for example health insurance, u might get a lot more articles since it is a hot subject that people like to write about.

Yes, Autoblogs = $$$

Except that i tested a zillion of various plugins now, and nothing has REALLY convinced me.

Eg. for Youtube...Caffeinated Con. is the only one doing a good job embedding vids and articles....there are dozens of Autoblogger plugins which are not worth their money.
Sometimes i think that every newb PHP programmer comes along coding some hacked "Autoblogger" plugin with more bugs than working code, charging a lot of money for the *** they program...

Does anyone has any good results? Unfortunately I haven't. I will try again with some twist in the method.

In the very first post shylesson stated it may take about 2 months...and the first post was only 2 weeks ago. Keep building them and let them ride for awhile and see what happens. :D

Did anyone get the twitter tool to autopost.

I had no luck with it and tried a few others with no success. But at the time my site was only pulling feeds from wp-videotube. I did not try it with other autoposters and did not get any articles from UAW plugin.

However, twitterfeed.com works fine and although it takes a couple of extra steps to set-up it looks like it will now be easy for me to link blogs to twitter accounts.

One thing I didn't like so much about the twitter tools including twitterfeed.com is that there is no direct link back to the site that you might get by manually tweeting. I'm not sure the shortened url would help encourage site spidering by searchengines so the only positive effect I would imagine would be people actually following you on twitter and clicking through to your site. But bear in mind that shylesson has tested this and it would appear to be very beneficial.

Duplication is important and shylesson seems to have a working recipe for these autoblogs.

I'm sorry I cannot answer all of the questions at this time as I am about to go into a meeting here in about ten minutes, but I did want to reiterate and answer a few things if I could.

1. It took me like 2 months to see earnings. I saw slow steady traffic after the first month, but as the months progressed I was getting more and more traffic. Now the blogs I started back then are still getting increased traffic and the clicks are lovely [perhaps it is the niches I chose to use?...and I keep debating telling everyone which ones I use, but I honestly don't want people to just focus on those niches and then end up decreasing my clicks!....Hope you all understand]. But what my main point is, ANY promotion would be more than MY attempts at NO promotion.

2. The UAW plugin is not mine so I cannot account for it's not working properly. I do know you don't have to join to get it posting and I have not had a problem with it posting within 24hours of setting up a blog. Perhaps because I set mine up around the uberarticles directory keywords. I have not gotten around to making new blogs but plan to do that next month so will see if I can't find another route for that.

3. I have played around with CC but I find that I will have to alter the templates to my liking to make the posts look a little less spammy. Though it is good for adding content and dripping it in imo. I use it in conjunction with the UAW and youtube plugin on a few of my blogs [not all].

4. I've not tried phpmyvideoblog so can't comment on it.

5. While I did only give the bare minimum necessities that I have seen to work, I did tweak blogs here and there more and less, but only on blogs hosted on the same hosting account [again I made every attempt not to make these blogs look spammy lol]. I have noticed some differences across blogs:
a. the ones I have the tag cloud showing get more traffic.
b. I get more clicks from the blogs that have the ads set to randomly show rather than statically show.
c. When I use a template that is more in tact with the niche I'm targeting, the bounce rate is slightly lower [as you all know for autoblogs it is insanely high anyhow]....not much, but a good 2% is something lol.

6. I like to use as many automated plugins as possible to add a variety of content. Variety means a variety of users. And it makes the blog less spammy looking imo. That's just one reason I was not happy with CC out of the box-- I had to go in and edit the posts when I noticed the freaking links on the end of each post-- and didn't want to mess around with editing templates at the time lol. But as everyone has said--content is king so I try to make my blogs produce as much content as possible without it being spammy and posting too much.

If anyone is using the WPVideotube plugin and doesn't like the description being showed in the posts, you can edit the template easily. Go to the plugin in your admin panel and click on edit template and take out the code that shows description [it's the last line on the code] and save. And it looks a lot better imo. Posts very sexy like lol.

And now I must go to my meeting~ Ciao.

Were you able to get rid or the powered by wpvideoblog link at the bottom of your blogs?!

Thanks for the info now if only I had 1,000 people doing it for me !!!

keep posting good stuff,

Thanks for the info

Best Regards,

^ what shylesson said about letting the blogs sit for a while- it's hard to get a new blog approved in a CPM ad network (I'm banned from adsense). I'm thinking that your best bet is to let each blog "simmer" for about a month before trying to monetize it.

That being said, it's hard to get motivation to make a bunch of blogs when they aren't producing any income.

This is a long term game, folks.

Hey guys! This might sound a bit dumb but I just wanted to clarify this thing as got a bit confused reading the above posts. If I have a blog on WP, can I use these plugins on my blog or do i have to have a proper domain name like www(dot)mydomain(dot)com?

in order to use custom plugins u need to host WP somewhere. so if u hav ur blog hosted on w0rdpressdotcom u can not use those plugins.

but this does not mean u really need to hav a domain. u could also setup such a blog on free webhosts (like freewebsdotcom), or you buy webspace and a domain and setup it on there. or a domain only pointing to ur free webhost..

hth

@cindy--that is for the free version. you can get the unlimited version using the coupon posted a few pages back...for like $15 i think it is. well worth the investment indeed.

@y2k--very true; i did mine with domains I already had sitting so they weren't making me money anyhow before.

And the time took was long in the beginning cause I wanted them to be perfectly non-spammy looking lol. But once I set the first one or two up, I had all the plugins I liked in a folder on my desktop and a system to where it only took me like an hour [two tops] to get everything installed and running. So I took my free time to do that. People just got to learn to give up their free time now and again. I still have a good 10 domains just chilling with no content on it at all that I could set blogs up on [even though I really want to make them into something so I'm like weird about the debut of one of my domains actually having the stuff I wanted to have on it on it rather than spam] so I know many others are like me [love to buy a domain when ya think of a good one lol]-- may as well go for it, no?

Anyhow---I am off for the whole weekend for the first time in months....I am going to enjoy it for a bit!

Thanks Shylesson. I'm actually on my way to Hostgator and I have some GREAT ideas already and I'd love to shoot some around with you. If you have AIM def send my an IM sometime or send me a PM. Hope we can talk soon.
