Hi all,

I would really need some help from you all and maybe this post will help others too.
First... realhacker net groups crawler forum topic next-generation-domain-co

Now, i've firstly found out about the video in the same day it was released on youtube but i didnt give it too much importance until some weeks ago when i was talking with a friend of mine about this and we start searching on godaddy for some good domain names.
In the end we got some good brandable domains with very high rankings of their .coms in Alexa and Google. At that time i was thinking to buy some trademark domains but my friend said it will be very difficult to sell them and so i did not, there were some names like .reddit.co, but i was shocked when i've seen in the next day that reddit.co was in auction with 3000 :(

So, is it worth to buy trademark domains? In any case where can we sell them faster even with high appraisal but not waiting in godaddy.

Thanks in advace!

Being in auction doesn't mean selling it..

I think that in domain auction, ppl like to shoot to the stars to try their luck..

But I'd like to know the ranking experience with .co exact matches, if anybody knows anything about it..

Real domainers steer clear of trademarked domains because owning one of these is a good way to get sued.

As for ".co" domains - don't believe the hype.

Take a look at the top ranking websites on Google.

How many ".co" domains do you see there?

I don't think I've ever seen a single one...

.co is over rated and was hyped up as "the next .com" in a joint marketing effort between GoDaddy and some other registrars there will never be another ".com" as the prestige of the domain name comes from the fact that it is the oldest and most prominent extension around. It's really the only domain extension that's a brand in and of itself.

true, this could be a marketing trick between google and godaddy to help selling .co faster. Don't know, but the point is that many trademark and brandable .co domains are in auctions at godaddy and many other companies on the net.

On one hand google and godaddy advertise it as next gen, and on the other hand we get stuck inside the "trademark" and "brand" domain !? Hell, let's say 5min. after you read this someone goes and buys ex: facebook.co !? would you buy it?

But what if you knew about it!? Would you buy it or not? I believe there are so many ppl with money around there that just buy domains like houses and sell them x100 times more.

I'm ranking directly underneath mainbrand.com for my branded .co
Conversions are still shite though.

Guys, some weeks ago, I searched for free ipad 2, and the 1st result was : freeipad2.co
So it's totally worth it.

I agree with you. I just want to know ranking experience with EMD .CO

Google ranks .co domain as well as .com, my competitor has the .co EMD domain, 21 words. and he reached #1 with very high competition. ;)

go and purchase the .co domain.. lol

After .com which 1 you prefer .net/.org/.co ?

Yep, never give in to the hype. .com is what people associate with the internet and it always will be. I recommend the book 22 laws of marketing to understand more about this ;)

Google dance and you got lucky ?

nah low competition keyword but insanely profitable. never tried to rank a .net or .org in high competition i always felt a .com would make more sense in that arena.

Have anyone of you seen the video from webmastertools in youtube? the one about .co?

anyways, one thing is for sure, when you do appraisal for a .co domain at sedo or godaddy you get 5-10 times more for it.

so, is it worth or not?

question 2 was where to sale them fast even if you do it for only 10-20 times the cost. !?
i got some good brandable and trademark .co that i have on auction at godaddy.

Trademarked domains are never worth it. They can subpoena your domain provider and/or send you a C & D letter. Your money, wasted.

.co can rank just fine, my main site I am working on now is a .co and it is currently sitting at #2 in google for several of my keywords. Personally I don't think it matters all that much what is on the end of a url, it is all about your content on the site and the backlinking structure you have done for it. BTW I also have a .info site ranking number 1 though it is a low comp keyword
