Hourly rate to teach Wordpress?

Hi how much would you charge as an hourly rate (or one off rate) to teach a client how to build their own sites using Wordpress. this would include, how to buy domain, hosting, setting Nameservers, install Wordpress (via Fantastico), login and setup a blog (adding text, photos and videos), themes, widgets and Plugins setup.

Why don't you just get a video done by someone here and send that to the clients? It would be much more economical i guess. Just my 2 cents.

I think a video is a great idea but this is just a one off to teach clients here and there (i make decent passive income online already) who would most likely have a number of questions and prefer a one to one lesson otherwise they could just search Youtube for videos.

If your client is lazy then he might pay that
if someone is smart enough then he will search youtube/net.

even if I was a newbie I wouldnt had paid 150/hour for learning wordpress.

i usually charge 25 per half hour for everything, managed premium support.

I am doing same work for my clients only 10$ for per hour rate.I also sometime set up my clients bog in wordpress with necessary lpugins and his chosen free theme only for 30$ for per installation

Lot of cheap charlies in your neck of the woods, so $150 might be pushing it.

Personally I'd probably try something like 1,000baht an hour.

You know wordpress have like 7 minute install?

In my experience if they can't work out how to do it in the first place, they're never gonna do it.

I remember once I had to help someone who was trying to upload a site they'd made in dreamweaver or frontpage, I went through everything with them, step by step and they came back the next day and they had uploaded the site over and over again inside itself, pictures were missing etc.

My point is that if you know what your doing on a computer, wordpress is SO easy to set up, but if you are not computer savy it would literally be impossible for most people to grasp.

Wordpress is pretty self-explanatory after installation (even with installation and their famous 5 minute install).. there are things here and there that you may need some basic webmaster/programming knowledge of but if you're looking to do articles, blogs, or reviews then its simple as setup is one-time only (as long as you backup routinely).

The other server part of your learning can be done through online tutorials and guides but since its a one-time thing and security can become an issue, I would leave this up to the pros to teach you.. only requiring this server-related knowledge may decrease your costs of learning a bit..

Also if you get managed hosting then many server and OS related issues are taken care for you (they might even install WP for you) as part of your payment (usually at a premium to unmanaged servers).. I jumped into unmanaged right away and even though it was tricky (requiring a bunch of OS reinstallations to get it right), I finally got the hang of it and can do practically anything with it now..
