You guys should google "darren brown" (I think). He has a tv show that just came to the u.s (england prior). He runs around doing crazy shit like paying for jewelery with blank pieces of paper. He's talking to them as they are paying for them and his words convince them he is giving them 'good' money.

If it were that easy and successful, I'm sure that every car dealer would send their sales people to seminars and most of us would have all kinds of shit we don't need. Dropping hints and appealing to triggers that influence people is not the same thing as hypnosis. Subliminal ad's have re-emerged in stock spam, an image that flashes buy buy or trust this with the stock ticker symbol, not the same as hypnosis anyway. I had a pheromone oil created a couple years ago. I had 500 bottles of it sent to me to test out. When I was at a porn convention in Fla I set out to see if it worked. It did, but not because pheromones do anything, I was just so intent on testing it that I put myself in more situations to be close to girls, my habits changed and I took risks that I would not normally take.

Subliminal Messages can be effective in advertising. They usually are flashes of quick messages within a video or movie or a low repeating voice that's not directly audible to the conscious. I did study this science in one of my social psychology marketing courses at the university. It is an intersting field and no it's not exactly the same as hypnosis.

Exactly you "backwards engineered" someones personality, in other words you mimic someone who is succesful. You try to create the same aura of confidence, power, control, and other qualities that women generally desire. Alot of the time you are being someone else, they even encourage creating an alias in order to forget your "old" self.

You obviously missed the point of the book, this is what the author said after living the life you want for a year at the end of the book. "We were all searching outside ourselves for our missing pieces, and we were all looking in the wrong direction. Instead of finding ourselves, we'd lost our sense of self."

I'm not saying the techniques don't work im saying its a shallow way of living and a temporary fix to someones problems. I think there is something wrong if your value system consists of getting your "numbers" up.
