Of course it works. I blasted the shit out of a single video I made to promote a product last June. For three months the video danced up and down the rankings. But from Sept 2010 up until last month (May 2011) it stuck to position 4 on Page 1 for my main keyword and got me nice passive income commissions from $200 - $400 per month before some loser flagged it and it was removed.

One other question for you related to the backlinking portion. Now for me, I have been using magic submitter to create profiles (blogs and forums) on a very diverse set of sites with an anchored backlink to my vids. You mentioned in a prior post that you use social bookmarks coupled with scrapebox.

1. Are you able to get videos to rank strictly through the social bookmarks?

2. If not, how aggressive are you with sb in blasting out comments to get the video ranked?

I'm thinking of getting scrapebox to speed this process up if in fact it gives the desired results. I've also considered xrumer blasts but I haven't seen anyone report results here other than just mentioning it as an idea or asking if others have done it.

Initially I find that dailymotion and metacafe can quickly outrank YT, but for staying power, I like YT. Also, for what I'm doing, I like being able to change the annotations any time I want to, so YT is for me.

If its not too competitive of a niche than bookmarking seems to give it enough pop to reach the first page, and to keep it there for awhile. If you're using Magic Submitter, the status .net sites work really well for vids.

I almost always now add a blast with SB. I get good results but one thing I am noticing is that SB blasts move regular websites faster than YT vids. So, be patient, its not overnight but I always see results from SB blast in 1-3 weeks. I generally hit each vid with 10-15K links... more or less depending on the niche.

If you're into video marketing I'd definitely add SB to your mix; I've not used xrumer on vids yet, but would be interested in the results.

It may prove worthless, but hey if you can dominate multiple aspects of a unversal search term that just means more hooks to your site/offer. I might just try this for kicks and see what happens.

I've not tried to rank images although there is a technique or two around for it... and they do work. I believe I have some info on it somewhere tucked away on my hard drive... if I run into it, I'll forward it to you. But you certainly can get them ranked in the right circumstances.

Hi there, Mike. I too have had some great results doing some pretty heavy automated linking to YT vids in the past. Unfortunately my methods got exhausted.

My question to you now is with the 10-15K links that you talk about, do you put them on a schedule or just blast them around the same time? Curious to know how YT is responding to this type of link building
now.

How would you do it with Bookmarking Demon? Tried it with BMD?

a link is not just a link..look degree is degree no matter master degree or PHD? Nope..The better links you build from better site ..the better rank you get..and for scrapebox.blasting for youtube..blast with Autoapprove Links List...

I have an update on this.

I've been blasting a Youtube video for a month now and although it's gone from outside the top 1000 to inside, it's best position hasn't improved over time:

9/7: 60th
10/7: 57th
13/7: Not ranked in top 1000 (unless it was a Market Sam problem)
22/7: 289th
24/7: 82nd

So today it's ranked worse with 7389 backlinks than it was 2 weeks ago with 3650 backlinks.

The backlinks have gone up consistently too so no great big increases apart from right at the beginning.

How sure are you that the number of comments makes a difference to rank?

I only ask as some videos have their comments disabled yet still rank well.

It works, i have 200 videos on youtube, i built at least 30-50 Links to at least 80 Videos i've got, they come up in google's results on Page 1 with major keywords, blast them away ..

30-50 links isn't a lot so sounds more like a dance.

Well I just threw about 50,000 links at about 8 videos this morning - just to see what happens.
I wasn't really going for ranking within youtube - just trying to throw some juice at the d0f0ll0w link in my profile, and seeing whether any PR flows through all youtubes NF links.
I'll let you know if anything happens.

I have blasted a few youtube videos and it does work. I think youtube is much like blogger, web 2.0 etc they need some diversity in the links not just SB. Mix it up with bookmarks, profiles, articles etc and you will see much more movement.

Update:

Video now has 7755 backlinks (was 7389 yesterday)

Google rank it's dropped from 82nd to 83rd so maybe it's holding a similar position.

For another keyword which hadn't been ranked inside the top 1000 it's now come in, in the phrase format in position 173.

I'll keep it going and hopefully the dancing will settle down.

Ok i will give this info away for freeeeeee. You can do backlinks back to youtube, but the way you have to make them is lil different then a reg backlink. It has to be a video backlink. Same video with different text, I know this works cause I have my videos ranking on the first spot on youtube. Even on some keywords I take over the whole page. Hope this helps some.
