Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have been an amateur computer/internet geek for some time now and have made a few bucks doing it, but since finding this forum I have realized I need a lot of knowledge. Is there anyone out there that can advise me on a series/books/etc. that could help me gain the knowledge I need to be able to earn money online? I am looking for information such as what is being discussed in the thread about making $15,000 in 60 days! This would be of enormous value to me as I love money:-) Feel free to PM me or what ever!

Is there at least one experienced IM who can help me?

If you are completely new to internet marketing, the Keyword Academy is a good place. to start. It's a program that will walk you step by step from the beginning to making your first $1 online and on and on. Just do a Google search for "Keyword Academy."

Thank you Ramen. I'm not completely new, I've done IM for a while without really knowing what I am doing. More specifically, I want to learn more about technicalities. I am college educated, and not to toot my own horn, am very intelligent. I have been scouring this site for a few days now and have realized just how ignorant I am at IM. My questions basically revolve around code, HTML, scripts, etc. I just need to learn about error codes and plugins and, etc. Anyway, thanks for the advice and I look forward to all other advice! Feel free to PM me and become my mentors!

I agree with Ramen. The Keyword Academy has a great course on all you need to get started. I started there then came here when I had the basics down and was making good income every month. Honestly, this is not the best place for noobs. There is TOO much information and finding a clear direction is difficult.

How different is The Keyword Academy from the 30 day crashed challenge?

Theres tonnes of ebooks and advice in the download section, go check it out!

Great, I will start scanning the downloads and see what I can pull out of it. I'm off for now, got to go get paid by a client in another "niche". Thanks and feel free everyone to chime in.

Does any other professional want to become my mentor?

Don't think it'll be that easy to find a "mentor". However, just post questions when you have them, and make sure you try your best to find the answers first. If you are still stumped then there are tons of people around who want to help out. It also doesn't hurt to give thanks or rep to those who do good too. Helps the community as a whole. Best of luck in your endeavors.

Google can help you lot more then other but you need to put good question for accurate answer. so try Google for lots of knowledge.

Read everything you can get your eyes on and once you think you are ready to get started read even more. I recommend only working on one or two sites/campaigns/whatever at a time until you know what you are doing.

Start with keyword research, if you don't get that part right you will have major problems making any money.

What exactly is it you're trying to learn? What are your goals?

If I can give any suggestion to really learn how to get it done, don't make "making money online" your goal. Make learning your goal and take any money that comes along with it. Just decide to learn something and do it. Don't worry about learning to make a wordpress blog that will earn, just learn how to set up a wordpress blog. Don't worry about learning to rank for cash, just learn how to rank. Too many people end up with failed projects and no real skills to show for them.

Also, learn by doing, not reading. When you sit down at the computer and read a forum for hours or blogs or books you usually just end up not knowing what to believe or not having absorbed anything.

Sit down with a goal for a completed project and figure out how you're going to get there. If you don't know what the plan should be, Google stuff until you figure it out. At each step of the plan, if you don't know what you're doing, Google until you do. If you do this, the only time you end up wasting on reading is to learn something that's actually useful to you.

Also just to clarify about the not trying to make money thing. Of course the goal is to make money, but you have to be very wary of these posts. First off, people lie. Second, people get lucky with projects and make lots of cash without even really understanding why that one campaign was so hot. Then people follow their instructions and it doesn't work out.

I was a guy who moved from method to method for years starting maybe 12 years ago and I was filthy rich, no college or anything, started as a young teenager. Really though, when affiliate stuff went into the great decline it's been in, I took a lower paying consulting job and picked up tons of skills just by practice. Now I've got tons of companies who want college or even ivy league degrees offering me six figure salaries. Had I focused less on quick cash and more on marketable skills I could be even way past that stage of my career already.

Thanks for all of the advice!! So, lets start with keyword research. How is that properly done? What exactly am I to be doing?

dallaswynn.....I'm not trying to sound like a broken record but the Keyword Academy teaches you how to do keyword research too (hence the name). In fact, keyword research and SEO are the two main things you'll learn there. The program is free for the first month and there's no requirement to stay after a month so you could potentially pick up the info you need there and then move on.
