Budget is like $50 per page..
if you get the demographic right....
but if you don't then expect to spend more...

I do not have a personal facebook. Its all business.
All of them are for business.

The minute you come to terms with that... then you realize that you have not been doing things you need to be doing to make sales.....
It changes your whole perspective.... for the best.

Hello Virus1,

Thanks for providing some great information as to what has worked for you. I am just now starting to make head way with some things and setting up FB amazon pages that working to get more traffic to them.

From a FB fanpage that is set up as amazon mini site with many items of choice, and someone clicks a link would you send them to your own off facebook site or let them continue to amazon and continue buying there?

Appreciate the thoughts and advice.

From your earning report above what % of that does an amazon affiliate receive as their payout?

I send them to my web site.... then try to push them to amazon ASAP.


People always send them straight to amazon...
but somewhere I read that the click had to originate at your site to get paid....
so I play it safe and push them to my site first.


on the payout screen....
REVENUE is what I SOLD for them...
the advertising fees is what I get paid.

you are right... the 24 hour cookie sucks...
for that reason I almost did not join with them...

but even with that....you can make money....

People that go to amazon... they are ready to buy.

absolutely agree, I think a 24 hour cookie is complete BS... doubtful it'll ever change though.

I have also started working on amazon associates and here are my first results.

As you noticed from provided 2 screens, i am waiting for 17 more orders in worth for about $600, thats about $45 more revenue for me.

My target is to sell 10 items/day. As i calculated i am getting an average $2 for each sale and i am happy with this number.

If i reach my goal 10 sales/day * 30 = 300 sales * $2 average revenue = $600/month

I got last 2 days 9 sales and i am near to reach my first goal. My traffic comes 99% from SE, but twitter can be also a great source if you know how to do.

I have some questions for you. Do you think my sites would convert well if I put "real" and "persuasive" reviews per each best seller product?

Your numbers look solid.
what do you have an astore or wordpress with a plugin?

Writing up real and unique reviews are a pain in the arse.... but they work so well for amazon.....

I highly recommend you do it.... just make sure its on an amazon best seller....

Thanks mate. I have created almost 10+ amazon sites from dec-may 2011. Optimized them with all I can and got some nice organic traffic and some sales. But as you said on your post its all about SALES. That is why I am planning invest on some review articles on these amazon best sellers..

Thanks to everyone for adding your thoughts and insights. I am more of an idea person than an implementer so I want to share my current process and where I think I am headed.

Currently, I find best selling products in markets that are off the beaten trail. I make a pre-selling review page on Squidoo or other web2 site and then I add a few amazon links and then promote those sites with lots of backlinks.

I am not getting a huge amount of traffic but my sales conversion rate is 3.95% and I average about $1.50 per day, whoopee. This was more of a proof that it works than a full blown business plan. The intent when I started was to build a large site full of reviews and I still may do that.

On to the FB->Amazon idea. Btw, stats wise there are 140 million US facebook users and according to FB, 50% of their users login every day.

Facebook is not like internet marketing and not like email marketing. It is more like a social event like a party or bbq. The concept is you are with your friends. If you were to go to a party as a guest and started telling everyone that you have a camera store and that they have to buy their next camera from you and you hand everyone your business card, you will FAIL.

But, if you go to that same party and take some pics and videos with your new camera. Eventually people are going to ask you about it and you calmly say you have a camera store and if they want to try one out, they can visit your location anytime.

That's sort of how it works with facebook. You are interrupting people who are in the middle of killing time essentially and they are not looking to buy things (normally).

But they are looking to be entertained, to be wow'ed, to find something interesting to share with other people, etc. So, to sell to this crowd, you first have to lure them in some way. And just like in fishing, you need the right bait and you have to wait for the fish to bite. And you need a lake/river that has the fish you like your bait too.

So, back to the camera store model. Not many people put in their profiles that they love Canon cameras. But what other things do these people like? Books on photography? Magazines on photography? Websites dedicated to photography? Kids, pets?

Head over to Amazon, make a list of all the popular books and magazines on photography. Next use quantcast.com and see if you can get the demographics of people who read those magazines (using the magazine web site). Build a profile of the ideal photography enthusiast that you want to connect with. Describe them (name is Bob, male, age 25 to 45, married, 2 kids, 1 pet, etc).

Then build a fan page dedicated to this person. Then build an add campaign and use all those demographic and books and magazine and website data to hyper-target Bob and his related kin.

Send them to your facebook page. Treat Bob with care. Use an incentive to get Bob to Like your page. Use your wall to share useful and entertaining and interesting and funny and educational and viral stuff. And use your wall to softly recommend products that Bob might like to use, either with a direct affiliate link or link to your blog.

Maybe offer Bob a second bribe to join your mailing list and essentially do the same style of marketing, just in an email form.

And one more trick. FB stats indicate that the avg person has 130 friends (not sure I believe that but ok). Many people have friends who are in the same demographic, ie, your friends are typically your age, etc. You can create an add and set it up to ONLY show to people who are friends of people who like your fanpage. So that potentially increases your market by 130 times. In other words, if you have 1000 fans, you could spread your ad to 130,000 more people.

yes they do.... i use them.

but make the video or find a video that is personal
like the video is of the person doing the review...
and if you have access to the item.... put images of it up too...

and don't do an auto video crap... where your site pulls 20 videos of
the same item from youtube....

make the whole review ---a personal experience....

the more personal...the more it converts...

sales is about need-emotion-comfort .....

Wait amazon cookie is not 24 hours. I believe its 24 hours if you just click, but if the customer adds something to their shopping cart then its 90 days. Unless that customer clicks or adds an item to a cart through another affiliate's link.

"...We will pay you advertising fees on Qualifying Purchases in accordance with Section 8 and the Associates Program Advertising Fee Schedule. I get a lot of delayed purchases. It really starts to add up after few months of steady traffic.

This is very nice to know.... thank you, now preselling is as easy as using add to cart buttons instead of buying buttons.

It depends on your ad and on the type of page you decide to do.

The better the page.... the more fans you will get for that money.

You choose the wrong page... and you will go thru the $50 and get 5 fans..
