I've heard about Lucid Dreaming quite some time ago, I can't really remember where or when exactly but I found it quite interesting. I was going to read more on this and maybe even give it a go but I'm wondering if this is actually real? Stuff on the Internet tends to be over exaggerated...
So has anyone heard, tried, or experienced this?

I've tried it with some "special music" thing before sleeping and I felt it sort of worked and it was a really weird experience. Before it gets too real you wake up.

The whole point of sleeping is so your conscious mind is off (the one you make decisions with). Lucid dreaming allows you to make decisions meaning your concious mind is on so you need to go to some weird in between of awake and asleep. Too much decisions will mean you're pretty much awake so it's a really gray area of discussion.

Yes, I actually have experienced it about three times in my life. Didn't do any ''training'' or whatever for it (you're supossed to write down your dreams and stuff right?), I just one time realized ''hey, this shit doesn't make any sense! Must be dreaming!''. And it's true, you can do whatever you want from there on, fly.. talk to the people populating your dreams.. have sex with beautiful wimminz... DBZ style kamehameha shit.. Unfortunately none of my lucid dreams lasted more than what felt like a few minutes. Last one I had was almost two years ago now I think.

Oh by the way, if I wouldn't have experienced it myself I wouldn't believe any of that Lucid dreaming stuff, so feel free to be sceptical.

I've practiced lucid dreaming before. It's hard to get the hang of it, especially since you can't guarantee that you will even become lucid. Sometimes I would go weeks without becoming lucid in a dream.

I never managed to really get into it though, because I wasn't getting enough sleep, and my sleep pattern varied too much. But even now, once in a few months, I'll become lucid. It's incredible.

The hardest thing is maintaining lucidity. So many times I've realised I'm in a dream, and then suddenly lose the ability to talk, and then it becomes fainter and fainter until I wake. Few times I manage to maintain lucidity and I would fly off into the sky and go explore the world.. mountains, oceans, deserts. I'd wake up in awe.

Actually sometimes I can control my dreams even before I heard about lucid dreaming I didn't know that term until couple of weeks ago, actually I was thinking to build a website around it and earn some cash but now I bet every blackhater in here will look for this term :D

I taught myself astral projection but it got too weird for me so I stopped...but it works for sure.

It wasn't from a movie, it was somewhere on the Internet. I am quite sceptical as with most things in life. I've heard that some people use herb tea's but never heard of anyone using special music. lol

What interests me most about this is the fact that it's an unusual experience, it seems so incredible.

Astral projection? What's that?

the best method to master it is to try it just after you woke up before you do any movements, before opening your eyes, moving your arms, etc...
try to feel a mobile phone in your left hand, then try to rotate it in your hand (in your thoughts, without real moving), you will start feeling it, then try to jump or roll "out of your body", you will start feeling strong vibrations in your body and then you will get into your lucid dream...

When I was young I was interested in lucid dreaming. Was being lucid atleast once a week. You need to learn patterns and know 'odd' things in dreams like pink zebras etc... Once you become lucid it is very, very hard to maintain it. I've never achieved being lucid for more than 2 'dream scenes' (where one moment you're flying, the next you're somewhere else, and then you're back in a dream state). You basically gotta keep telling yourself its not real, not real and trying to control your body. You either fall back to dream state or you wake up.

When I said I used to practice lucid dreaming, I didn't mean drinking herbal tea, listening to music and all that shit. For me it was just a matter of questioning, several times a day, whether you're awake or dreaming. It may sound stupid, but it's about getting your mind in the habit of doing these reality checks. If you stop what you're doing, a few times a day, and really analyse your surroundings, you'll start to do it in dreams. For example, look at a clock and check the time. Look away, and check it again. Often in dreams, our minds mess with things like that. It's these moments when we're suddenly like, "Shit, this is a dream!".

I had a pretty weird one the other week. I was at a car park, and some guy was holding someone hostage. He was threatening me.. when suddenly I became lucid. I said to him, 'you're forgetting something. This is just a dream'. Then I pulled out a gun and shot myself in the head to wake myself up. Pretty messed up.

I think it may be fairly common. Quite often I'll be having a dream where as part of the dream I realize that I am dreaming and take some action knowing that it's only a dream and I don't have to worry about the laws of physics. I haven't been able to control the dream (like zapping myself to a beach) but sometimes can change the scenario a bit. I've sometimes found myself able to force myself to wake up, but most of the time I seem to fall back into the dream and lose the awareness of dreaming.
What I've wondered is if it happens more often that I can remember. When I don't recall any portions of my dreams is that because I had no awareness or simply forgot?

w0000t!?!?!?!?!?!? Lucid dreams is new thing? lol no way!

Stable lucid dreams can be seen when you sleep eventoug your not tired (continue sleeping eventough you could wake up in the morning) or take dream herb that grows in africa.

If you want to study more of dream world, i prefer that you read psychedelic literature and better, try out some of the psychedelics (THEY ARE SAFE TO USE! LSD is WAY safer and healthier than alcohol).

EDIT: because we live in world that prohibits self-learning, here is disclaimer: "If your psyche is out of bounds, then consider disgussing with your doctor about using psychedelics, if your psyche is in good shape, then your going to have a blast".

EDIT: My morning dreams usually confuses me and mixes up sence of reality, i'm relieved that dream world is not real world after awhile when my body starts to wake up, then i realise it is just a dream and i'm not actually living the bloody thing :D

Indeed Get some shrooms or LSD. Or if you don't want trip that long maybe DMT or Salvia. SHrooms get kinda boring fast though :/

Once you start lucid dreaming you wont want to come back to reality trust me! It is such an amazing experience I could stay there forever!

One tip I read was to set your alarm 1 hour early then go back to sleep and during that time and the time you usually wake up you may have a lucid dream...

I lucid dream all the time, but it's on varying levels. Almost always i'm aware that i am dreaming, but still not in control of it, despite this awareness. Sometimes i'm able to control everything which is pretty awesome, but it's quite rare.

Although literally every time i fall asleep i know that it's a dream and not reality, I thought that was normal up until about 10 years ago when I was talking to a group of friends about it and they said they never realized they were dreaming until after. Almost always aware throughout, don't really know why.

I had it once and it was a very very intense experience , still trying to figure out what exactly happened coz it started as a lucid dream and then i started exploring my oldest regressed memories , was a intense and liberating experience.

Wasn't aware that lucid dreaming could be induced on purpose , will try some of the stuff posted above :)
