Working hard but still not making money =(

Are you seeing any traffic at all from your keywords? Are they ranking anywhere in the first couple of pages?

$40 for an article, wow you will need to sell some shit to scrape that back.

I think you should try and up your traffic immediately 20 a day is shite.

You need to start answering questions relating to your niche on somewhere like yahoo answers, answer truthfully to gain trust and include your money sites url.

This would be a good start.

One thing I must say is Congratulations on actually doing the work!
Most people don't even take action! I hope you get things figured out soon and are rewarded for your time and money spent =)

Stop crying like a baby, there are people on this site who havnt earned a penny from last 3 years and they are some loser, if u think u have brains in ur upper part of ur face, start with real work.
- submitting articles for what???? Promoting your site, others, backlinks, etc
- click banks etc pays but very little
-etc
-etc
These arnt work which would make you money.....Now the next question u would ask me will be ......"So tell me what should i do?" and my ans would be when u have a treasure island which is full of gold why are you not using it????
Search BHW and you will know how people Make money online and if u wanna get spoon feed- u r not the person who can work online.....leave it

Since you're in the top 30 for a few of the keywords, you aren't penalized or in the sandbox. A few factors will play into getting traffic and moving these keywords up in the rankings.

1) The competition
Take a realistic look at the top 3 for each keyword. How many backlinks do they have, age, stength of backlinks, etc... Market Samurai can do this for you or you can install a browser addon seoquake.

2)The popularity of the keyword
Even if you get to the top 3 you'll need know how much traffic they will send you for the exact phrase, not a broad phrase. Typically the number 1 spot gets about 56% of the clicks. Anyhing below 3rd only gets ~2%. So if you can't rank in the top 3 for a targeted keyword, I wouldn't even try it. Find another one. Now if the keyword only gets 1000 searches per month and you were ranked 1st you can only expect 560 visitors per month from that keyword. Consider what sort of work will it require to get to 1st

3)The OCI of the keyword.
Some keywords aren't buying keywords. Such as "free facebook guides" . It may be a great keyword with lots of traffic and little competition but chances are you aren't going to sell them anything. Market Samurai did have this feature in it when I used it months ago but it was buggy then.
Code:

So a good commercial keyword with little competition that has a good amount of traffic is what you're after. Picking the wrong keyword can totally mess up a campaign from the start. Underestimating your competition can really mess you up too.

Take for instance this keyword: (not exact stats)

"buy red widgets"
monthly searches on adwords: 1600
CPC (if monetizing with adsense): 1.29
OCI (more for clickbank): 85%
Competition:
1st: 1200 total backlinks, PR2, one year old
2nd: 50 total backlinks, PR4, 3 years old
3rd: 120 total backlinks, PR0, one year old

Typically sites that rank like this will be easy to compete with. The oldest site in second position is ousted of 1st by a one year old site. Usually means you can beat them with some backlinks.

So how much can you expect to make on this keyword and is it worth going after?

at 1600 per month, if you rank 1st, then you will get 896 visitors. Of those 896 on adsense, if you get a 6% CTR at the highest CPC you can earn 69.35. If you are going to use clickbank to monetize you can change the formula up a bit. The gist is know how much traffic you can get and how much is the keyword worth. Targeting a keyword that has lots of competition may mean you'll spend lots of time only to get to the second page and never really get any clicks.

It's going to be alright man. The number one thing I'd say if you're looking for fast money is to do your keyword and competition research and don't be scared to be blackhat. I mean if you really want to see fast success then you need to go local and bust out your sales skills but seriously, who want's to deal with clients and customers? Not me I can't wait until I got all my legit recurring dough up to an amount to where I can live the life I want (drinking and gambling all day) and hiring someone else to deal with constantly building shit.

there is much cheaper article writers out there and some very good one's on BHW.

Your keywords is too competitive to just start and make money, it will take forever. Try finding some Long Tails in your niche even if there is only 300 searches, 10 long tails with 300 searches is allot.

Make more content. One $40 article is not going to do you any good. I personally have created 96 Unique Articles for my site in the past 2 weeks, and my SEO traffic has gone up from 20 uv pd to 100 ++ a day. because of the lot of Unique Content.

So work hard but work smart aswell. and paying $40 for a single article is madness.

There is no way in hell that 1 article is going to bring its money back within a 6 month period if that is the price.

Even if you buy 20 at that price your going to be broke and still not see any traffic.

Good Luck. Look at my Last thread that I have started about atlast making $3 a day after a month, of hard work. read through that and im sure you can do much better than me for a start as you have the money to spend it seems.

All the best.

Do one thing at a time..master just one then move on dont move on until u make money with one and not just 1$ maybe like 200$s

The secret to making money online is not giving up. Of course, you have tried many things. Try to always mix them up. Some niches you really expected to make money would fail you woefully. Some that you dont even expect might be the ones making you money.

The key is trying new things always. Even if you are currently making money from certain areas, launch out to new ones so that if those money-making sites fail later, you would not be disappointed.

im in the following niches

-fitness, muscle building
-dating tips for men
-air conditioning, heating
-abs, six pack abs
Alright am going to give you a very good solution.

First of all skip all the bullsh!t of SEO , you obviously dont have the patience and skills to wait and make it profitable giving the fact that ranking in those niches is no easy task.

What you want to do is geared towards getting your traffic from social networking sites. No offense but you have so much traffic you can get from Youtube especially in the abs, dating, and fitness niche.

What you need is traffic, so if you have your site established already with some good articles i suppose since you are paying 40 bucks an article then is better if you start using youtube.

So here are what you will need:
~100 youtube accounts
~ 10 proxies , 20 recommended but not need to.
~ a youtube software, that i honesly dont know cause i program my own scripts.

Now you will need to scrape some videos related to your niche, for example if you are doing abs. Then you want to find videos on abs on youtube which in reality there are a tons to pick from you should have no problem finding the videos with tons of views.

I would suggest you pick anything from 100k+ views when starting out , once you have found a good list of videos then you will go ahead and comment on them. You will want to make really good comments, not spammy ones and make several different ones so you can rotate if you dont ppl from youtube will find out that you are posting the same comment over and over.

A very good example of a good comment
"This is a good basic ab exercise routine... But the real key to getting abs is getting rid of all the fat that's covering your abs. A healthy diet, cardio, and weight exercises are a must for getting abs.
If you're truly serious about abs, you should check out the video I have on my channel."

As you can see it gives some insight information, am sure you can do better by gathering better facts from your articles that you have, and puts it in a nice comment that you will post with your accounts.

Once you have posted those comments on your videos that you have selected you want to go ahead and rate your comments so they appear in the highest rated comments.

Also make sure to customize your channels in your accounts to have a link on your accounts profiles, so they can go to your website.

Do this with 100 different accounts on 100 different videos and rate your comments as highest rated and your for sure would get easily 100 visitors a day minimum for 3-4 weeks generally thats how long the comments usually stay up on that niche.

It can all be automated if you use software and the beauty is that you get instant traffic from one day to another none of that SEO stuff that you are seriously not prepared for.

I would suggest 1 thing: works smart, not hard!
$40 per article..., that is not smart. Are you saying that you are paying like $400 for 10 quality backlinks?
Why don't you hire yourself at $40 per hour and write that article. Or get 10 x $4 articles and submit them to 10 different places...
Or pay somebody $40 for a good scrapebox or xrumer blast or a strong link weel. There are people on fiverr making you thousands of backlinks for $5! You could have tens of thousands of backlinks for that $40.

Anyway, I have a feeling that even tough you are using MS for research, there is something you are missing. And from the traffic you are getting, I would say, your competition is too strong. But, with that $400, if used properly, you could probably slaughter them.

You are a good guy, because you are WORKING.
Keep it up!

Simple you tube videos,Video commenting etc! BUT you gotta know what to make videos about and etc. You'll figure it out i hope bud :)

I made your same mistake when I first started. I listened to all of the gurus out there spoon feeding everyone bullsh*t. I spent did about the same amount of work for the same amount of time OP did on one of my websites. The niche was pretty big, but I was very determined. However, it never even came close to paying off.

Work smarter not harder is definitely the way to go. So, how do you do this?

1.) Keyword research, keyword research and some more keyword research.

2.) Find cheap high quality writers. I know, seems like a stupid thing to say.. But test, test and test some more until you find good high quality writers. No more than $5 to $10 per article max.

3.) Send off your keywords to your writers to have one to two articles written around each one.

Ah, seems like I'm feeding you the same bullsh*t huh? Here comes the kicker!

Launch multiple medium niche sites each month, but do no promotion after adding your content. Let your site be found naturally.

Monitor traffic on all of your niche site. Keep the winners and dump the losers. After you have a few winners that are getting good traffic simply expand on that website. Think of ways to make it more useful; more content, a useful directory, add whatever you think websites within that niche are missing and fill the void.

This has been working great for me the past 3 months. The beauty of it is it's much less work and more pay.

I can feel your pain. I'm working a full time job and have spent the last 7 months creating a gambling website... I was completely new to the IM world (from a webmaster's side) and have been learning html, css, and seo on my own. I use a few of the tools mentioned in this thread but I write all original content. I just had my first commission check come in, but my daily visits are pitiful - too embarrasing to even write here.

A big problem of mine was learning SEO on my own and poor keyword research (something I am still struggling with). That coupled with a very competitve industry has had me frustrated but I try not to let myself give up. The bottom line is I write good content (which is how I manage to convert my pitiful traffic into sales), and I'm always improving in the SEO department... once that aspect starts picking up I'll hopefully be seeing more traffic and more $$$.

Don't give up, but if you see your efforts aren't being rewarded also look up a new way to drive traffic.

Great thread and some excellent advice here. Thanks for all who posted their two cents.

I might actually give this a try. Question, does anyone know a software that could be used to do this?

keep going, dont give up..this is what divides the successful people and the failures

Plenty of writers charge $75.00 and up. I sure do, but then I write for large companies with deep pockets.

Try writing some articles for DemandMedia (ehow.com) for awhile to pay your bills. I've never written for the content farms but would if I was just beginning or had no money.

Best of luck to you
