I've been promoting an affiliate offer mainly by Google Adwords. Well after a few days my affiliate manager emailed me and told me that my leads were crap and now they have paused my affiliate account to check into my activity.

So that sucks.

Anyway my question is....is there a chance someone (a competitor?) could have clicked my Google Adwords promotion and fucked me over by filling out fake leads? Thats the only thing I can think of. I noticed the leads were pretty high and I thought I hit a goldmine. So disappointing to find out that I have basically lost almost $1000 with adwords.
What should I do?

Depends on the network you're using too...some of the less reputable ones will take any pretext to screw you over and keep the dough.

Was your ad misleading? If someone clicked it, would the page they saw more or less fit in with what they were expecting?

Depending on the affiliate, they may let you keep the money and stop promoting the offer.

I have been asked to stop running campaigns but didnt get banned or lose any money.

one has done this to me aswell and it was a more reputable one!

they fucked me over 3.5k

im trying to get it though i sent screen shots to them and all that good stuff

Just goes to show that you gotta spread your leads over different networks so you don't get totally ripped off like that.

Ain't hindsight great? :D

its rediculous my lawyer is looking into seeing if we can sue them

first of all just because your account is paused doesnt mean you wont get paid, just tell them you dont know why they dont convert on the back end, and argue until they pay you, which they might anyway. Second just because you are promoting through adwords doesnt mean your leads are of good quality. And I dont think suing them would really work out youd lose more money with time and lawyer bills than worth anything

they wont let me login to my account they have my account as inactive and told me they need to review stats that will take 45 days to look over, i told them no.. they are breaching contract and need to pay me the amount i am owed on the net 15 which is stated in their contract

I think you guys should post the networks that screwed you so we know which ones to avoid

Actually now that I think about it, since you are using legit methods (adwords) you could maybe tell the aff network that you will make a post on DP or other large forums + blogs about them and give them lots of bad press..

not sure if that would be wise or not though, I've never been in the situation

I'm not sure yet either...

they arelooking through the stats saying every single lead was fraudulent i told them theres no possible way, i sent them adwords screen shots... and everything

the company is copeac

what was the affiliate program

If you made the money, they will pay you.

Have you at least sent out a simple e-mail or made a phone call to try and explain your situation? I don't really particularly care for PPC because a competitor who knows what he's doing can click your ads and screw you over.

This is also another very good example of why it's best not to keep all of your eggs in one basket. If that one basket breaks.. you're screwed.

exactly

in a week or so i'll be promoting over up to 15 networks to spread it out

do not put all your eggs in one basket, i thought it was fine because i was going to do it this one month to rack up the money i invested

but obviously, they are trying to screw me over

now im back at stage 1 with more experience then before!

and yes i made a phone call she said the advertiser said all the leads were fraud and was not going to pay them

i asked if she seen the list she said no

i then said how can you know its all fraud then?

she didnt like that answer

then i stated that i understand that if they dont get paid by an advertise i understand that they cant pay me

but i ran another offer and they did not complain they acutally liked my leads but they still wont pay me for it...

im giving them another call tommorw

It sounds like there's two possible outcomes here.

Either A:
The affiliate company is just a bunch of total fuckbags.

Or B:
Someone screwed you real bad..

If I may ask.. what is the affiliate company that's doing this and calling you out? Also, do a Google search for this affiliate companies name and see if they've ever done this to anyone else.. Believe me.. if a company screws over affiliates, that's the one place it will be on.

And i lost about 1.6k worth of adwords $

i made about 6k via the network this month

and they screwed me bad

Instead of posting a separate post for that, you could have just edited your post and added it on.

I've never heard anything bad about this company. Besides talking to them, there isn't much action you can take to get your 1.6k back. I would cut my losses now and if you're performing that well, I would tell them you'll just take your traffic and business else where.

Yeah im going to call them one more time tomorrow, explain that i at least deserve the 3.5k in the other offer that they got paid for by the advertiser

that if they don't want my business nor any business from my fellow webmasters that i've referred then i can go elsewhere as well as my other 7 webmasters signed up under me generating roughly 900-6k a month
