how to avoid scrapebox bandwidth problem

what about the posting part? does that also cost a lot?

Since I dont want my ISP to find out what I am doing, I am thinking of going to a starbucks for harvesting purposes and then my own internet for posting, does that sound like a good plan?

Get wifi at your house, if your isp complains tell them its your neightbors and you dont even know what internetz are.

You more than likely wont hear from them..

Maybe I'm not right, as I haven't done any accurate tests but I think that the link checking is the worst culprit.

We have metered plans here in Oz - we're not lucky enough to get unlimited internet yet where I'm at. I was having real issues with a 50GB plan so upgraded to a 200GB plan that was 8-10 times faster as well - all that accomplished was allowing me to work 8-10 times faster.

that meant i burnt 200Gb in half the time it usually takes me to get thru 50GB.

The wife hasn't taken the near dial up speed for the last 3 days (and next 4) very well at all.

I only quoted you to recommend you get a VPS as well (you in particular if you have bandwidth limitations on your regular home ISP).

SB in general is a bandwidth monster. As partymarty said above though, the link checker is a really really hungry monster.

However, if you plan on getting any real results with SB, all of it is going to eat up bandwidth.

You can get a VPS for $35 that has a 100mbs line, unmetered bandwidth a gig of ram & a 90gig hard drive...there really is no reason not to do it.

You can get a VPS wherever you want. I live in the USA and the VPS I use is in Europe.

I've been with xsserver for months now, and they are incredible.

Search for all the threads asking "where should I get a VPS for SB at" and you'll find me recommending them every time.

Well, just upload your scrapebox to your VPS, click on "activate" like you did when you got it and just check "update license" or something like that.. and within 1-2h your license will be updated and you are ready to work

Yes SB can eat your BW hard, do you have crap operator with metered broadband?
Or are u afraid of the principal of blasting?
Doing a coment blast right now with 3 proxies and SB uses 30mbit.

You don't have to be connected to the vps while it runs scrapebox. Think of it like any hosting. Your websites work without you being connected to the server. You connect to the server only when you want to upload files or change settings etc...

You connect to the vps via remote desktop connection that enables you to see the vps windows desktop on your computer screen and set scrapebox keywords and proxies then leave it to harvest.

I usually get my list of free proxies from Elite Proxies and then, scan it with scrapebox

Anyone have suggestions on how to set up security/antivirus on a VPS before running Scrapebox? There are some nasty malwares that try to creep in.
