a 3.5 mill keyword does not necessarily connote a competitive keyword. if it gets zero traffic you will most likely be able to rank for it pretty easily with a few hundred backlinks from quality sites.

Tensegrity had it right, it is 3.5 mil competition and it isn't that popular, about 8k searches/mo. I would just really like to be in 1st position, not #2 or #3 because of the traffic difference....
