how to build backlinks?

whats the best way of building backlinks? ive currently got a site that i need to try get high up on google as possible. I've done abit of reading about seo and backlinks just wondering whats the best way?

Also how far up on google can i get if i havent done on site seo?

1. First things first. If you have no onsite seo, you aren't going to move up on Google unless you just have massive amounts of traffic like a Facebook or Amazon.

2. There are a lot of ways to build backlinks. You can publish articles, do blog commenting, bookmarking and so on. You can do google news alerts for your keyword phrase. When the alert comes in each day, click through to the news sites and see if you can post a comment with a link. Many allow it. There are really endless answers to this question. You can even hire people on bhw to do it for you. I suggest you read, read, read...but without onsite seo, you are just wasting your time.

So why pauls pocket is really slow to get the google cash? But the angelas pocket is really fast to get google cash..So can you tell me guys what is the best pocket? angela or pauls?
 
Both are good. They search there packets the same way. And both are always PR4 + as I recall. The rest has been said already. Start at the beginning and work your way down. Start with Onsite SEO before you do anything else.
 
Work well for me Angela packets. I am using this since December 2009 and I was already rank more than 20 keywords at the first page of search result for the past 7 months. Let me know how can I help you.
 
Yeah going back 2 years ago before I had any automated tools at all, I managed to rank pretty well for a competitive term (4th out of 2,400,000) just using Angela's links for a couple of weeks. There's a lot to be said for manual backlinking to high PR sites.
 
For the love of god, please learn how to spell "backlinks" for your next thread.

Search this forum for "comment spam", read and learn.

Then, buy & learn to use scrapebox.

After this, build some supporting micro-sites which will provide strong backlinks to your central site later on down the line.

Every time someone is asking this question, the same non-working techniques that shouldn't be recommended for link building suddenly come up.I am talking about blog commenting which is 90's and doesn't work anymore.

Yet, no one wants to mention one of the easiest and best ways to build a link campaign that will rank your site higher...

Select 20 sites from different niches/categories that rank well and are listed on the first page of google for competitive terms, put each domain in a list... then GOOGLE each domain (to get places to add your link) and add you link wherever you can.
After doing this for a while, you will gather a huge list of places that allow you to add your link, list that you can use for other sites/projects that you will start in the future.

well, you can always outsource your backlink campaign to the marketplace.

Either automate it by using softwares or go to the "Buy/Sell" services section.

There is no particular one way to get backlinks
Forums, blogs, guestbooks and other social network sites are good starting point.
