FYI: livestrong and moveabletype block the embedded link when you use html code in the forum/blog comment...There may be more, I am going through and posting right now.

You will not get penalized, but you won't get much out of it I can tell you that they have no PR and some profiles will get delete

Get "Ping studio" from member download forum. It can ping your back links to 3000+ site. Success rate is about 30%. But I find it easier to use fast mode. Ping 200 time for every links.

Here's a little trick I picked up from a post here. Can't remember who it was. Create new bookmark and title it "ping" or whatever you want. Go to properties and paste this in where is says "location".
