How Are You Optimizing for ChatGPT, Gemini & AI Search?

Compare the page with the top ranking results. You may find useful details, examples, or angles that your content is missing.

I did content around entities and topics, not just keywords., used clear Q&A sections, FAQs, and concise summaries , Add schema markup for Article, FAQ, Organization, Author.
What would you do ?
You're already covering the fundamentals. I'd also focus on building strong topical authority, earning branded mentions and quality backlinks, and adding first-hand insights or original data. AI search tends to favor content that's accurate, well-structured, and backed by a trusted brand rather than just well-optimized pages.

One thing I've started paying more attention to is keeping important pages updated instead of treating them as one-time content. Fresh examples, accurate information, and clear answers seem to make content more useful for both users and AI search.

Monitor search engine impression data to see which main topics ranks first. tracking your performance shows you whic pages need extra updates or extra backlink support.

If the content is useful and trustworthy, it has a better chance across all AI systems and I see schema as a communication layer for AI

Optimizing ChatGPT and Gemini is fundamentally about improving the way you ask questions; optimizing AI search is fundamentally about enhancing the authority and clarity of your content.

Combining the two can not only make AI tools your powerful assistants but also ensure that your content continues to gain exposure in the AI era.

niche based brand mentions have authority signal

I would work on internal linking and make sure related articles are connected properly. It can help search engines understand the topic better.
I’d also look at entity coverage, semantic relevance, and content structure alongside internal links.
I'd spend more time updating older content and improving internal links before creating new pages
Refreshing older content can often unlock more value than constantly publishing new page

Build topical authority secure high quality backlinks and consistently refresh content with firsthand expertise.

I’d also focus on getting mentioned and linked from relevant, trusted websites. AI search seems to rely heavily on clear authority signals and consistent brand mentions across the web.

In my view, i'd focus less on ai optimizing and more on making site to understand and cite. Here my priorities be strong topical coverage, clear enitity signal, first hand info, structure content and solid internal linking. Schema helps but it not treated as shortcut for ai visibility.

Agreed. Firsthand experience is especially important because it gives AI systems stronger signals that the content is genuinely useful, not just another rewritten resource.

Yes, off-page signals are important too. Consistent brand mentions from relevant sources can help reinforce the entity and make the overall authority signals more consistent.

I've been testing it a bit differently. Instead of asking whether a page is "AI optimized", I ask ChatGPT/Gemini the same questions customers actually ask us and see who they cite.

On a registrar site those can be very specific things like transfer rules, ccTLD requirements, renewal pricing, etc. If the answer is correct but they're citing someone else for it, that's usually the page I go back and work on.

On-page structure and schema are definitely key but LLMs also rely heavily on off-page brand citations across unlinked third party mentions and Reddit/forum discussions. If the entity consensus isnt established across web sources even perfect schema wont get you cited regularly.
