There are some other large classified ads sites as well. I believe Kinjii is another up and comer. I know this method works (haven't done it with Ebay) as I posted a system on my blog. Search "gumtree" and you can see how I made money on Amazon with it.
I believe Ebay would probably make a lot more money considering the payouts and the fact that Everyone loves it.

In regards to PPC...
That;s the simple part. ! software scans my affiliate network and retrieves product listings, then scans the google pages for whatever country I want to promote in. It let's me know if there is an affiliate url.
Second I use the Adwords Editor. I write one ad for all products. I can't really go into to heavily, but I have gotten the warning message from Google many times because I near the keyword limit. Which Sucks.
I say time and time again. I do hardly nothing manually. If I find a large marketplace with high demand, I will go out and have me some software to retrieve the lists. Getting the software to work with the bulk upload feature of Adwords Editor is the hard part, but if you get a good programmer, this is easy.
It's not about writing ads. It's about getting thousands of products, checking to see if there is an affiliate url, if there is then leave it alone, if there isn't then you make an ad within the program takes like 2 seconds.

It's all about bulk. I personally do not have the time to sit and search for say a product on Ebay. ( I use this network as a reference since I am currently in this situation)....
Now the *little guys* might search and search and search in country (US too competitive) and finally find a product with a decent amount of search volume and they can make an ad for. How long does this take though?
In the time this person does this (probably at least an hour or two - whole process) I will say kindly that I can scan and find 500 products with 0 affiliates promoting on this network. So that makes me kingdick ---for at least awhile.
I have made a lot of money with Amazon, Sears and HSN having custom software made for the last two and purchasing software for the first on that does this very thing.
It's amazing when you can sit down for a few hours every other day and crank out 500 ads with 0 affiliates for that network url. The trick is not ever selling this software. The guy who sold the Amazon Hunter most likely fucked himself. I know he did because I work a lot in a certain market related to his in Germany.

I would like to clearly state that unless you got a large budget ready to roll, to be very cautious from now until after the first of the year. Amazon is VERY brutal right now. If your familiar with Amazon and translating English, you probably won't have problems. You will have to outbid almost everyone for a product now. The markets have gotten so saturated now, it's quite pathetic. Most of these people are newbs and are quite easily pushed away.
That's all I will comment on about these types of tactics.

I just wish I could program. Having to rely on someone to do this for me gives them every opportunity to see what I am doing. I have been lucky so far, but I got big plans for a couple of large networks after the first of the year.

It's not as though programmers are often wannabe marketers. They couldn't care less, I'd bet. It's a big stretch in paradigm in most cases.
I work with a couple of clients and we've got a real superstar developer (he is often invited to speak at Adobe conferences). He couldn't care less about the business models and tactics for which the apps he builds are used. He's a developer.
