It's not fake, maybe your site isn't well optimized for conversion or the traffic you attract are not interested in what you've got.

I don't think Pinterest traffic is fake but the quality of that traffic can vary a lot depending on the niche and content Some visitors may only be looking for quick ideas or inspiration, while others are genuinely interested in learning more and visiting a website In my opinion it's more about whether the traffic matches your content and goals than whether it's real or not

if you are already getting the views, it means you just need to optimize your funnel better. Try check where the views are bouncing out, and optimize until you get it right. You already have the traffic, which is something most people struggle with

I still find traffic from Pinterest to be effective. It’s possible that your product isn’t compelling enough yet.

This usually means the issue is not traffic, but intent mismatch especially if you are getting views from broad niches like fashion or recipes, a lot of that traffic is just passive, not buyer intent on Google.

The traffic quality on pinterest is mostly depend on niche, some niches like fashion, beauty, recipies and home decor mostly converts better.

In those niches, a lot of users are just browsing ideas, not actively looking to purchase so even high traffic does not automatically turn into sales.

@Kycool if you are getting hundreds of thousands of hits and zero conversions, your traffic is real but your funnel is broken. i had the same issue last year with a recipe site... got massive traffic from pin but nobody bought the affiliate kitchen tools i was pushing. tbh food recipe visitors just want the free info and they leave. you are better off just monetizing that traffic with display ads like mediavine, you will make decent money with that volume anyway. for nutra, if you are direct linking or using a basic bridge page they will bounce instantly. you need a quiz lander or a solid advertorial to warm them up because pin traffic is super cold.

I wouldn't call Pinterest traffic fake, but I've seen a lot of people overestimate its commercial intent.
Pinterest users are often in discovery mode rather than buying mode. Someone saving a recipe, outfit idea, home decor inspiration, or fitness tip isn't necessarily ready to purchase anything. That can create huge traffic numbers with surprisingly weak conversion rates.
Another thing to check is whether the traffic is actually landing on pages that match user intent. I've seen sites get hundreds of thousands of Pinterest visits, but the visitors were looking for inspiration while the site was trying to sell something immediately.
If you've tested multiple niches and consistently see high traffic with almost no conversions, I'd start digging into metrics like time on site, pages per session, scroll depth, and return visits. Sometimes the issue isn't that the traffic is fake. It's that the audience is much earlier in the buying journey than traffic from Google Search, email, or direct visits.
