Hi.

I need to buy USDT to purchase something from this forum. However, me being in the EU seems to be a blocker because USDT is removed because of some regulations, whatever.

Do you have any suggestions in solving this issue? Any recommendation is highly appreciated.

I am not sure VPN is an option because it still sees me being an EU citizen.

Just buy ETH through the exchange and use Uniswap to exchange that into USDT, just make sure the platform whcuh you need the USDT for supports ERC20 network, and save a bit of ETH in your wallet to use as gas/tx fees. No VPN needed.
I've also found this approach, but there is one issue which I forgot to say in the post: TRC20 (Tron) is the network that I will pay :(

@possata do you know any other way to do this in TRC20?

If you need to pay on the TRC20 network, what's the problem?
Just buy any low transaction fee coin on an exchange, like LTC or Solana, to avoid high gas fees on BTC or ETH. Then go to a site like Fixed Float (ff . io), select "Float Rate" to pay only 0.5% (instead of 1% for fixed rate), and exchange your LTC, SOL, or whatever into USDT on TRC20. Don’t forget to keep a small amount of your initial crypto so you can convert it into TRX. Send that TRX to the same wallet where you sent the USDT so you can cover the gas fees, or just buy TRX directly from the exchange if possible. The fees on the TRC20 network for sending USDT are usually $2 - $3, and might go up to $4 if the receiving USDT wallet is new/empty.
It’s better not to send your crypto directly from the centralized exchange to another exchange. Instead, send your LTC (for example) from the exchange to your own wallet first.
If you don’t really need to use TRC20, it’s better to use the Solana network.

interesting response. thanks for the walkthrough. I am still new with all these cryptocurrencies

I just wished it would have been a little bit easier, just like i am buying crypto from binance or kraken.

@julian01 have you ever worked with Guardian? I saw that website and maybe I will use it. Idk

Yeah as it was told, you can buy another crypto and swap it. You can do that on all exchange that support USDT.

I've never worked with Guardian, so be careful, there are many scam no KYC exchanges out there. Most of the time I just use the one I told you about. Be careful when selecting the network you're sending and receiving crypto on.
Also, the exchange rate seems better on the one I told you about than on that Guardian one. Just input the amount of crypto you’re sending into both and compare how much of the other crypto you receive, you’ll see the difference right away. The one I recommended has some of the lowest exchange rates among non KYC exchanges.

I think I will go with ff. thanks guys!

Another option could be physical crypto exchanges outside or crypto ATMs where you can buy crypto with cash and later convert it to USDT. That might be useful if you want to avoid some of the restrictions that online exchanges in the EU currently have.

Just use Nexo, Bybit EU, Quppy, Bitpanda, Bitwala and other, other.. what a problem?)

You can freely use binance. Binance has the USDT stablecoin and you can buy it from there.

I think the simplest way is to buy another cryptocurrency like BTC or ETH on a supported exchange in the EU and then swap it for USDT. Many people still do this when USDT is directly restricted.

Just some friendly advice since i read on previous reply that you are really new with crypto.
Don't trust low-tier exchanges, try to use the top ones regardless the way you are going to purchase and then exchange to USDT.

Not sure if that is also fully trustworthy and especially for beginners.
Also i have read articles that Bitcoin ATMs can be manipulated and people have lost their money or access to wallets. (Not sure if its 100% true but i doubt its unlike)

Solution is pretty simple, buy ETH on any available CEX in your country and simply swap it into USDT using uniswap. You can do the same through Solana by using Raydium.

Buy any coin on central exchange and convert to usdc
It's that simple

Buy USDC first then convert to your USDT wallet by changnow or similar service

Buy USDC first then convert to your USDT wallet by changnow or similar service
This is way more expensive in terms of both gas & transaction fees. Just buy ETH or whatever chain USDT you need & simply use the on chain DEX.

I don’t buy on the TRC20 network, and I’m also from the U.S. I did buy USDT on BNB using PancakeSwap through an Android wallet.

As you mentioned major exchanges (Binance, OKX, Kraken) have delisted USDT in the EU due to MiCA regulations. You can try the following methods using a personal wallet download Trust Wallet or MetaMask. You can also buy directly through integrated payment gateways (such as MoonPay, Simplex) using Visa/Mastercard

You can buy another cryptocurrency form Binance or Noones, then convert it to USDT within any wallet of your choice.
