Will Altcoins Comeback?

Wait 4-5 years and they will rebound and go higher than before.I need some hopium cuz this feels so depressing being a loser when all markets are doing crazy, Altcoins are down 70%
Anyone else with similar thoughts?

As liquidity builds at the top, altcoins will start surging. A drop in Bitcoin dominance below 50-45% is considered a critical trigger for the next altcoin surge.

Man if you are spot guy who can't wait, you just can't do this.
If you want to earn money in a quick way you need to be trader daily or weekly, just have a setup and do it.
Do you have spots and those coins are down %70 already? I don't think they are gonna come back soon. Is there any good news that is going to be published soon? Maybe war will end between Iran and US.

Honestly a lot of people feel the same during big market drawdowns, especially in crypto where altcoins can drop 70–90% and still be part of a normal cycle. Markets move in waves, so being down right now doesn’t automatically mean you’re a loser, it just means you’re in the painful part of the cycle that almost every trader goes through at some point.

To be honest, I think people are just terrified to inject fresh liquidity into crypto because of the current global chaos. In this 'risk-off' environment, money flows back into safe havens like gold or USD, while alts are left bleeding. But remember, the most depressing phase usually hits right before the trend finally shifts. Stay cold-blooded. If you survived a 70% drop, you can survive the wait for the comeback.

You haven't lost anything if you didnt sell...
I am in the same spot as you on my altcoin portfolio, best thing we can do is wait rather than selling on a big loss.
Thats just my 5 cents on the matter, i think we will bounce back in the future but it might take time, lets hope for the best to atleast sell to get even

Yeah, a lot of people are in the same boat right now altcoins getting wrecked while other markets pump can feel brutal, but that’s pretty normal in crypto cycles and things can flip fast when sentiment changes. Sometimes these ugly phases are just the boring accumulation periods before the next run.

The altcoin market usually lags behind the main cycle because liquidity needs to flow from the top assets down to the smaller ones. Most projects are down 70% but the fundamental development in 2026 is stronger than ever. You should look at the Bitcoin dominance levels and the total market cap excluding the top three coins. Once the dominance peaks and starts to decline, that is when the real rotation begins. Keep your focus on projects with actual utility and active developers to survive this consolidation phase.
2025 was a good year for stocks and Bitcoin. Altcoins are the only one getting wrecked. The thing is, even if we 2-3x that's just breakeven and that also looks unlikely. Everyone is waiting for breakeven, at each level millions of people are ready to sell just to get out of this. There won't be a comeback this time atleast for those old coins. It's so sad to see how everything went against us, only XRP hodlers got some returns from their stablecoin
If your not holding ETH, BTC, and 2/3 other altcoins like HYPE, forget about all the other crypto they will never come back to the price you bought, crypto has no value and not utility, people invest in BTC as a diversity of their portofolio, they are not real use cases for crypto except money laundering

Most altcoins don’t survive a full market cycle and never recover. If you’re invested in strong projects, it’s better to hold and accumulate during the bull cycle. However, if BTC fails to hold the $68K–$70K support level, it could drop below $50K, and down goes other alts with it.

Spot on about the 'breakeven wall.' That’s the psychological trap of every cycle — millions of 'bag holders' creating massive resistance levels just to get their money back.
But that's exactly why the smart money usually ignores the 'ghost coins' from 2021 and rotates into new narratives (AI, RWA, etc.) where there's no overhead supply. XRP is a rare exception, but for most old alts, the 'stablecoin' phase is just a slow exit. The real comeback happens where the new liquidity flows, not where people are waiting to dump.
However, liquidity can shift instantly if a high-profile figure like Elon Musk mentions a specific altcoin or drops a few million dollars into it. It’s pure market manipulation, but in this space, one tweet often carries more weight than years of fundamental development.

i don't know why people are interested in altcoins. It's not really a long term investment.

If your alts survive
Some altcoins on my CMC watchlist simply died, delisted from everywhere and they are dead projects now, zero volume. This kind of microcap will never recover, just as dead as meme rugpulls
Of course if you didn't invest in microcaps you're ''fine'', nobody wants to be a bagholder, but someone needs to be the bagholder, at least it's better than holding dead projects, they will never come back...but coins on top 300 coins will very likely eventually recover

Yeah thats true also, the most i have invested in altcoins is on the top #10-20.
Then i have some in like #50-150 but the thing is those were NFT related project that i believe they are so dead and i am not optimistic for those tbh since the NFT hype is long way gone....
For those i should have sold earlier, but yeah you get to learn some things from your mistakes.
