If your profile is optimised correctly you can send out 10 to 30 connection requests daily. Just don't overdo it because if your account is new there's a possibility that it gets flagged. If your profile is not optimised correctly though you should do that to begin with and if you want help in doing that just check the profiles of people who do the same job as you do.

Don't waste your time speed running the 500+
I hit the 500 by adding people with similar experience and education, it just gets you all the connection requests from people that are useless to you
I've spent the last year clearing out outer-Ireland connections and people that I don't know so I can fill my feed with things and content I actually care about or should spend my time consuming
Once I cleaned and polished my list and started actually engaging with people that were actually relevant, my feed changed from "SEO/WP/etc is dead" to things that I actually need to get down
Getting the list cleaned up saved so much service offerings, so many accounts that are just hungry for connections... And believe it or not, you can actually tell the quality of a users responses based off of who they're engaging with
Once you've got actual chats going, people do reach out for a hand or advice, that can actually lead to progress
In short, f*ck LinkedIn unless you're bragging about stuff that nobody cares about or are trying to get a secondary CV/resume live
Even still, nobody cares about your LinkedIn connections and followers

if you actually want to hit 500+ fast without getting instantly restricted by linkedin's strict weekly limits, you basically have to bypass the manual connect button entirely by using the email contact sync feature. you just take a massive csv file of lions (linkedin open networkers) or use your custom fastapi script to scrape the emails of those specific cross-border b2b founders you are trying to matchmake, format it as a standard google or outlook contact list, and upload it directly into your linkedin network settings. it sends out bulk invites that completely bypass the normal outbound limits, and you will literally get a flood of accepted inbound requests and hit 500+ in a couple of days without ever triggering their automation filters.

If you want to grow it properly, I would say just send connection requests to people in your niche and then post things that inspire comments, like asking opinions, or sharing things that prompt an action.. this way, the people who have connected with you previously can engage with your posts and spread it across their people as well. This will help you gain a massive amount of new followers and connection requests. Linkedin is actually very good because it has this sort of network-like algorithm for suggestions
